We were distressed to learn that our favorite place for milkshakes and sandwiches is closing and a wine-tasting room will replace it after Feb 4th.

We stopped on our way through to our accommodation.....the food was delicious but the owners, Angus and the brains of the organization ....his wife of coarse.....were absolutely fantastic. So friendly, and a pleasure to be there!

They have great smoothies and ice cream at this place. The ice cream is made with real fruit. Fruit and veg store is good but a bit expensive. We went to place twice for a smoothie.

Angus and Di welcome you to their cafe. The Cider House can be found just after crossing the bridge on State 8b. It is in the Freeway Complex and is the only cafe looking across to Lake Dunstan. Lovely outdoor area to relax in, either with coffee, a local juice, cider or wine, combine it with a reasonably priced meal or snack. Inside a cosy fire for those winter days.Call in anytime, open 7 days.
