our tour guide brought us here at the end of a tour. it’s way off of the beaten path. what an amazing find. the staff was so welcoming and helpful. the food was delicious. fish so fresh. salad was so tasty and also fresh. pasta...was amazing. we had the santorini salad, lobster linguine, scorpion fish. some other white fish and baklava. we ate at 330 and needles to say there was no need for dinner. this restaurant is literally on the beach. you can walk from your table to the water. if you’re staying in one of the large cities it’s difficult to get to but if you get the chance it’s worth it. ps it’s such a hidden gem that one of our taxi drivers hadn’t heard of it. enjoyMore

Our group of 6 enjoyed a wonderful sunset dinner of fresh grilled fish and many different appetizers along with Santorini salad. The waiter was extremely helpful and assisted us well with our orders and everyone enjoyed their meals (which we all shared) greatly. Couldn't have...been a more beautiful setting as we watched the sun set over the Agean Sea and the black sand beach.More

Staying in Santorini for two nights and we walked to this restaurant in Monolithis for an early evening meal. Location is superb, and the welcome from the staff was better than anything we have had in nearly 49 years of Greece holidays. We had a...laugh, we had glorious food and little starter gifts, and the house wine was so good we had to have a couple of litres. Great people, great food , great ambiance, will be back tomorrow, the 21st May. A real welcome to GreeceMore

I private tour guide took us to this spot. He knew the chef. We were treated like family. We ate early due to our schedule. We had the place to ourselves. It is locally owned and the family is present and proud of their beautiful...location and food. This is a must stop.More

Located on the sea with a gorgeous view, the service was fast and food really good. The octopus was pickled and a new delight for us. The saganaki was very good also. Greek salad was average but still good. Waiter was fast and food arrived...very quickly after ordering.More

Yanis blew our minds with the meal he selected and served to us at Mario Restaurant. We were lost in the menu and trying to figure out what to order when Yanis appeared at our table, took the menus from our hands, and told us...he would provide "his best". That's exactly what happened - fresh grouper, scorpio, salads, vegetables, fried tomatoes, amazing cheeses, and several desserts appeared at our table, perfectly timed and gratefully consumed by our family. Grazie Mille Yanis for this spectacular experience. We will never forget visit with you at Mario and we hope to be back again in the future. You are a very special person !More

We order a few dishes. My boyfriend ordered a scorpion fish which was nice. I ordered a pork dish which was way over cooked and I couldn’t even use a knife to cut it. The feta was nice and the local dip of flava beans...was unique.More

Expected great things from this place after staying nearby and told it was popular with locals (always a good sign!). First impressions were great. A light airy restaurant right on the beach in a secluded spot with large glass window panels that could be moved...out of the way to creat an open feel with a superb view of the sea. Starters were excellent, nice to have a taramasalata that wasn’t a lurid pink! My partner had a pork steak which was beautifully seasoned with some of the best (clearly home-cut and home-cooked) chips I’ve ever had. But my mussels arrived and they were in a tomato and feta sauce (when I’d clearly asked for the option steamed in white wine, memorable as they initially thought I was trying to order a drink!). I was told this was the waiter’s personal favourite and his typical order for a meal out which is great to know, but not what I wanted as I can’t eat tomato sauce! The replacements arrived and the portion was not only tiny (more the size of a starter, not as a main course, and not at the prices charged), but almost two-thirds of the mussels were unopened (a major red flag that they should not be eaten). The odd one or two is to be expected, but this was the majority of the portion and should never have left the kitchen. Admittedly I should have complained, but having already had to return an incorrect order, I’d lost the will. We were not asked what we thought of our meal, nor did the waiter seem to notice the rather obvious lack of consumption. We simply paid up and left. A real shame as not what I expected either from reviews or from word of mouth or our first impressions on arrival. A fancier looking interior perhaps at this place, but I’d opt for the other local restaurant (also popular with locals) which was slightly less fancy in appearance (but better food), and go back to the Galini Tavern instead.More
