Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently had a family Sunday lunch in this restaurant. While the food was fresh and nice we found the portions quite small - the butter chicken & rice was more like a starter to be honest. Blade of beef was small also. Restaurant wasn’t...full when we arrived on the day but staff appeared rushed. However, our server was extremely nice and courteous. One female staff member was quite curt while informing us we had to move as the table was required for the next sitting (in any case we had finished by then and were ready to move). Just to clarify there was no mention of a timeline when making the reservation. This bar/restaurant is nicely located in a lovely village. But with a Michelin Bib we were slightly disappointed with our lunch experience - it may be once off situation as can be the case in any restaurant but we won’t be rushing back for the moment.More

Easy to book online, friendly service and excellent food. The portions were generous and the desserts in particular imaginatively presented. Not cheap but an enjoyable experience overlooking the Doonbeg river.

I would recommend booking as the restaurant is very busy, having said that, we were a walk in, and they fitted us in the first night, because of the quality of everything, we booked for the next night. From being arrival to leaving, the staff...couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We eat two nights with many different menu options picked, the food quality was excellent. The fresh bread given to the table is a lovely touch. We will be back.More

Chowder was great, fish and chips for kids was fresh and plentiful. Enjoyed a fab ‘old fashioned’ cocktail, best I’ve had in a long time. But…I took off one star as we had to ask to replace dirty water glasses and our servers weren’t as...welcoming and friendly as I would have liked given others feedback. Our table seemed a bit grubby and with no drinks coasters we were left looking at water marks all over it from condensation. Solid 3.5 but could be five with attention to detail.More

The best chowder in County Clare by a mile. Packed with fresh seafood, no farmed salmon rubbish. It was well seasoned and accompanied by a selection of homemade fresh bread. I had the lamb shank for my main in red wine which fell off the...bone. Keep up the great work thanks.More

A fabulous experience. Great ambiance, great service. The food was simply excellent and Michelin Star standard. Crab Claws follow by Hake with cockles & Muscles. Simply divine. We had varying desserts - all mouth watering. Food and wine was sensibly priced and represented great value...for money. We most certainly will be back. Martin BreenMore

Had the pleasure of dining here 2 nights this week. The service and food was exceptional. The menu is lovely and a good variety of food on same. The first night we visited the restaurant was exceptionally busy but service was very good. Our server...was very pleasant and excellent at his job, covering numerous tables at the same time. French wine was delicious and lovely to get chilled glasses for same. We sampled the prawns, crab, fish of the table and the steak and all in all it was all excellent. Well done to Morriseys for providing such excellent food in a lovely setting.More

Very busy place. I have eaten here often and there's a good atmosphere. Food was delicious. Girl on the door seemed stressed and there was no warm welcome.

Loved this pub/restaurant. We were staying near by and had our dog with us. Bringing the dog was not a problem and that was fantastic. Loved the ambience and the food was excellent. I would advise booking in high season.

Very disappointing food & service, waited & waited to be seated even with a reservation, staff were all over the place, barman & lady who was maybe manager were trying very hard to cover for the rest. Food poor Thai had no vegetables except for...peas & green beans, sauce was bland. Chunky chips were cooked in old oil result look overcooked but not fully cooked through. Sorry guys but a lot to learn.More

Went here with my husband and 2 children.Found the service to be excellent, with very attentive staff.Food was really good, especially the chowder, lots of fish and jumbo shrimp in it,and fish and chips were nice and light.Children had chicken gougons and chips, and the gougons were lovely,made...from real chicken breast and a decent portion. We had Eton mess and lemon tart for dessert, whilst children had 2 scoops of icecream(vanilla and strawberry),all of which were really nice.I had the hake for mains, and it was lovely, now my only criticism was I found the chunky chips abit over done for my liking.Seen them come out to another table the same way,so that's probably the way they do them.I kinda preferred the skinnier skin on chip that came with the kids and husbands food. Will most certainly return again.A highlight meal for us this summer.More
