We vacation in Terceira quite often, and a dinner here is a must do. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and delicious food. Highly recommended!

We visited R3 after a day of travel issues due to strong winds. It was quiet the night we went but the staff were great. They explained the various fresh fish options available and recommended some lovely local wines. Every dish was delicious and the...whole experience was great. Would definitely return.More
My family of 12 went to R3 on our last night of vacation. We had made a reservation a month in advanced. When we arrived we were very rushed. The waiter didn't give us time to review the menu or to get comfortable. He promptly...told us he would order bread and three different appetizers for the table. The bread ended up being 2.75euro a person and some people didn't even want it. The food itself was very good as was the contemporary setting.More
Great restaurant. Knowledgeable staff. The food was delicious and we were able to try things that were new to us. One of our party was gluten free and his dietary needs were met and understood. Wonderful experience, well worth a visit.
The food is very good (specially the fish), the staff is very kind and it’s very well located. I have an amazing time with my family and friend every time we go there!! If you’re in terceira you should definitely visit!!
My husband had a delicious dinner at R3! Our waiter made a wonderful recommendation for a local white wine to compliment our fish and octopus dishes. Really friendly engaging service. Beautiful view of the harbour. Highly recommend!
The architecture of this restaurant is very unique and stands out from all the other building - looks like spaceship. They have a small parking lot or you can park somewhere nearby on the street. The ambiance felt like a high-end restaurant, but when the...sun went down, cafeteria-like 4x4 lights came on. That was kind of off putting because it felt like we're in a cafeteria. The waiter was attentive and gave us the run down on the specials of the day. We had ordered bread and wine. We watched the sky as it turned from golden yellow to pinkish purple. It was a really nice restaurant to enjoy sunset colors and good food. We had ordered the limpets and risotto balls as our appetizers, which were delicious! We could've just ordered a few rounds of that and called it a night, but of course we want to try other entrees. My bf and I got their local beef steak served with cheese, another got a wreckfish entre, and gully jack fish entre. My steak has two pieces of steak sandwiching local cheese. It was a bit hard to cut through it since the knives weren't that sharp, but I managed. It tasted delicious and fresh, but it was a bit on the chewy side. It wasn't as tender as it looked. Flavor was good and it paired well with a side salad. However it was a bit too much for. I think I would share this dish if I were to order it again, since it's two pieces of steak.More
Had 3 evening meals out of 4 days we were staying at Atlantida Mar hotel. Restaurant was just over the road. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent fish options but other options too. All very tasty and well cooked. Had a starter, mains and...sometimes a desert with a bottle of wine. 60 to 70€ incl tip. Would highly recommendMore
My wife and I ate at R3 last night and we loved it. To start, it's a really cool and different looking restaurant with a nice view. Our server was Joseph and he was so helpful and patient as we had a few questions. I...believe you can tell a lot about a restaurant just by their bread and R3 bread was fantastic; hot and freshly baked on premises. For appetizers, I ordered the cheese and olives and my wife got an order of sausage. Both were fantastic. The sausage was especially good with a delicious smoky flavor. For entrees, I got the alcatra stuffed pastry while my wife ordered the grilled octopus. While my entree was very tasty, my wife said hers was the best octopus she's ever eaten in her life. That's pretty high praise. We finished with a dessert with a name that I can't quite remember. It was something like Maria cookie pudding and it was basically Portuguese tiramisu. It was a great finish to a great meal. We highly recommend R3 for dinner. Prices were reasonable and there were a lot of choices on the menu. The food quality was great and they clearly take a lot of pride in their restaurant.More
R3 was located a 3 minute walk from our hotel, so we had to try it. The location is interesting there's a cow pen behind the main dining area and it was fun watching the cows romp around when we were eating. And no, they...don't serve those cows for dinner. The service was impeccable, especially Jose and Rodrigo. I had read other reviews that spoke to the cost, I found it very reasonable. Just try finding a meal of that quality with entrees, wine and dessert for 4 for $100 in the US. I had the pork chop with mustard honey sauce one night, and the Alcantra beef in puff pastry the second time. Both were fantastic, with reasonable portions, and the "Lava" merlot was a perfect accompaniment. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals both times we went. We were in Terceira in 2019, and again this past August. We will be going back, and will definitely be going to R3 again.More
It’s hard to be such a bad rating but both hamburguer and octopus were quite bad cooked. Indeed, small parts of the octopus were not grilled but carbonized. I’m not giving a lower score since staff were very helpful and nice and they offered to...do a new hamburguer and they did not charge for it. Bruscheta were quite okMore
My hotel was just across the street and I went there on a rainy day. Nobody else was there for lunch. The food was just ok. Nothing special and the restaurant serve industrial frozen, heated bread and prepacked butter. I had expected freshly baked bread...and butter with perhaps garlic or some spices. The service was good, but very impersonal. One of the two waiters was sick with a cold and coughed a lot behind the bar. In these times with the Coronavirus it is not pleasant to look at a sick waiter coughing into the air or in other places too?More
On our day long tour around the island with Gui Brugges of North38 we stopped at R3 for lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful in selecting a meal that represented a local Azores specialty. I had fresh fish, with the head, tail and...bones, not my usual way to eat fish. It was delicious. We had the added pleasure of being seated in the back of the restaurant where we could watch young cows play in the pasture behind the restaurant. The wine was excellent. We ordered aside of bread which was not included. I thought this was unusual.More
Following a late flight arrival, the restaurant staff were more than accommodating to look after us and offer us a full menu. The food was outstanding allround throughout all off our party. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and will recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was good. We dined here 3 times and we’re only disappointed with one appetizer (merely too dry for our taste) otherwise everything else was great. I love the architecture of the building and how the manager/owner makes suggestions and can fit your wants and...needs. Certainly a place to experience. Thank you for the great service and food.More
