Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for breakfast with a family member and had to wait for eggs which is fair enough but there wasn't much of anything else either. When the eggs were ready I went to got bacon which was dried up, sausages were small and rubbery and...hash browns were soggy. I tried to eat it but it was all so tasteless due to it having been under the lights too long. The butter for the toast was rock hard and unspreadable. On coming to pay for the 2 breakfasts I was asked if everything was ok so I told the lady that I couldn't eat mine as it was dried up and she wasn't very happy and said "it was all replenished just as we arrived and all she could do was give 10% discount". Sorry but won't be going again and would definately not recommend it either.More

We couldn't book online as it was fully booked,I rang the pub and he fitted us in.The pub was busy but we were seated straight away and asked if we wanted drinks..we all enjoyed our food especially the carvary,I had the standard plate and you...could choose 3 meats and a Yorkshire then help yourself to roast, mash, stuffing, carrots, sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower cheese.all was hot and a lovely gravy.the Yorkshires had all gone but took minutes for new ones and the server brought it straight over to me..all the staff were really nice and food was served quickly...would definitely go again it was a well run service especially the young girl with dark hair and the server on the carvery..would recommendMore

We called in on spec and was told that there was 20 minute wait for food We were happy to wait but were told that we couldn’t sit down with our drinks. My husband and mother in law struggle with mobility. We did sit at...a table and if we had to move we would have done. Out table was ready within the 20 minutes. The food came very quickly but was a bit cold. The staff were so busy we couldn’t attract their attention. The food tasted nice but would have been better warmerMore

Went to the Carvery. My Husband checked before we went in.It was 30 minutes wait which was fine. Came back for me it had changed in 1 .in to 45 to 60 mins which OK it can happen. Loads of empty tables,as it was 4...pm which had not been cleaned. No explanation no help as to what we had to do. We asked where we could sit again given no help.So we found a table of which there weree plenty immediately we were pounced upon by 3 girls in pale blue shirts who had been stood around. The first at least was polite and informed us we couldn't sit at a table she was at least polite. We moved to what looked like a seating area and was told again in no uncertain terms to move. We moved again just to a seat and another girl at a lecturn at the end of the Carvery shouted across loudly " You CANT SIT THERE." It was so rude. U have never encountered anyone so rude. I work in the NHS would she like it If I spoke to her in that tone. I advised her that we had been made to feel uncomfortable from the moment we entered the building and that her tone was rude. We were leaving quietly and calmly when I felt someone following me extremely close breathing down my neck. Imagine my surprise when she had followed me to argue with me. In all my years I have never ever been made to feel so unwelcome and have had to endure such a bad attitude from Hospitality staff in my life. This place needs a clean sweep of serving staff. The girl with the Dark long hair who followed me to confront me needs to be removed from the premises immediately. She is obviously in the wrong profession and has the wrong temperament. I intend to take further action and will inform everyone I meet in the future about my treatment.AVOID AT ALL COST.More

We had our team get together at the Sheldon Arms. I had visited before so thought I knew what to expect but things have changed. There has been a refurbishment. The whole place looks so much bigger being light and airy. The toilets are much...nicer and the whole atmosphere seemed so much friendlier and welcoming. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They made sure we were informed of the offers available. We all really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back to try more of the new things on the menuMore

We came here today for the breakfast carvery and although we got there 5 mins before they were closing the breakfast down the staff couldn't have been more helpful, ensuring anything we wanted which was not left on the carvery was cooked for us, the...choice was great and the food was not dried up like it can be on breakfast carvery. We didn't feel rushed and the staff checked we didn't want anything else before they cleared things away. Overall great experience and the friendly helpful staff made us feel very welcomed. Had an absolutely outstanding experience at The Sheldon Arms. Recently refurbished, the place looks stunning, really warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff couldn’t do enough for you, every one of them friendly and helpful *Shout out to Reece, such a lovely chap with a soothing voice*....Food was brilliant, we opted for the carvery - great choice of meats, beautiful lamb in minted gravy, very enthusiastic and engaging chef, clearly loves his work! Every single thing was perfectly cooked, loads of vegetables, sauces, gorgeous thick gravy. Yum!! Our new favourite place. Thank you all so much, great value for money and a fabulous experience.More
