Popped in here for a midweek dinner. What a great pub! Food was lovely and plenty of it! We had Fish & Chips, chilli dog and a children's meal. I would definitely recommend it! The only thing that annoyed me was one of the bar/waitresses. I was deciding where to sit and ordering my drinks at the same time and... More

We had the Sunday lunch and both opted for beef, It was like trying to chew an old boot! The menu showed it was served with peas and carrots. As I don't like peas i asked if they could leave the peas off mine but they didn't bring me any carrots either When we finished our meal we waited for... More

We visited on a reasonably busy Saturday and there was a nice atmosphere. We were told there was a slight backlog and would have a 20 minute wait before they could take our order to the kitchen so we're surprised to have our order taken just a few minutes later, and our meals arrive just a short while after. The... More

Hi Ty Aplogies about the service, we were very busy over the past weekend and honestly admit to being caught on the hop somewhat. We're in that awkward transition period between winter and spring and it is very hard to guage how busy we're going to be. That doesn't excuse the poor service after you ate, but hopefully goes someway... More

Excellent atmosphere at this atmospheric pub at a special location on a canal. The service is impressively accurate, helpful and engaging. Our main dishes of chick/mushroom/wine pie and fish/chips were both excellent. The shared sticky toffee pudding was also very good. Highly recommended.

We visited the pub on a Sunday afternoon. It was in a great position overlooking the canal and there were plenty of boats to look at. There was a duo singing songs, many irish so I was in my element. The pub had run out of a couple of the beers but they were expecting a delivery the following day.... More

Hi Annie Thanks so much for the kind words and highlighting our live music, which now takes place 2 or 3 times a week due to popular demand. You will always find a band on between 5 and 7pm on Sundays and it has been affectionately called Sunday Club by our loyal locals. Apologies about the beer, we do admittedly... More

I would not go here again for a meal. The staff are nice enough but the food was disappointing. I had chicken and mushroom pie. There was not much chicken, and only the cheap bits of chicken were used:(

Hi Janet Delighted to hear our staff are nice. Were they not nice or approachable enough to raise your concern in the moment? I am always at a loss when customers do this, i.e. jump straight on TA without speaking to the venue (and I say that on behalf of all restraunteurs, it's not fair to complain to the internet... Log fires, beautiful view of the canal and marina, very tasty and well presented pies, good local ale. Need I say more? Not only was my chicken and mushroom with white wine pie delicious but well presented as well. The pie in a separate dish had a crisp crust, super. I chose black peas, unusual but good nonetheless and chips... More

Decided to go on a walk down the canal to try this place out, as it has been years since I last visited. The food is absolutely incredible!! Thank goodness the new management came when they did, absolutely turned this place around! The decor is lovely, music and atmosphere equally as nice. Still a nice chilled local pub, with the...
