We hadn't been here for a while, so we thought we'd give this restaurant another try. The vegetable biryani that I had was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed a side of tarka dhal — smooth and fragrant. My husband had chicken biryani and spinach with paneer, which were also very good. The service was impeccable, and the place was busy.

I have Reviewed Himalaya before but a few years ago. Can't really knock the service or food yet again a great Bhuna plain nan for me . A sizzling mixed Tandoori grill for my sister in law which I tried and was still succulent. My wife asked for a coconut rice which wasn't on the menu but they still cooked her a dish full. Cobra beers in the bottle which I prefer so no complaints from me. Toilets are up steep stairs so awkward for some but apart from that a good night had by all.

It wasn’t a bad meal at all, I enjoyed it. My niggles were that the young waiter was constantly pacing up and down, as though he was standing guard. Yes, it’s great to have attentive staff, but he was too much. I also thought it was a little bit petty to insist I ordered my main course at the same time as the starter. I could understand this being a problem on a busy Friday or Saturday, but apart from a couple already well into eating their main course, it was empty. The food was fine, no complaints. But Atmosphere wise, I felt I was being constantly watched.

We popped out for a jaunt on the motorbike whilst staying at our caravan, on the way back we decided we fancied a bite to eat. We decided to try Himalaya. And wished we had gone over the road to the Dilraz !! So, 80% of the tables empty, it was 6pm ish so expected and normal for this time of day. We were ushered to a cramp table of 2, we of course took our jackets and helmets off. We were ask if we would like some poppadoms and drinks, we ordered both, drinks delivered in a timely manner as were the poppadoms. We were asked if we were ready to order, so as we were I ordered one starter and my partner 3 starters. And this is where the fun began. As we didn’t want a main course, we were told we HAD to order a main in a very strong manner . Well, we didn’t want one ! So after expressing this the waiter went and checked with the manager if that was ok, we offered to leave and cut our visit short there and then, waiter came back and said that was fine on this occasion but as it was the weekend and a bank holiday it was expected to order a main !!!! Now , 6pm ish , an 80% empty restaurant with a possibility of the restaurant refusing to serve us and turn away revenue ( our bill in the end was £38) and we felt like lepers !! So we ate quickly and left . All starters were great, bar the prawn on purée,to which I was quite happy to leave with out a fuss until the waiter and the manger decided to try and lecture me on a Prawn on Purée ! VERY CONDESCENDING Not the best experience and certainly won’t be back.

We are not a fast food restaurant and want our customers to enjoy a full dining experience with us. Our menu which is displayed outside the restaurant clearly states that starters are only served with main courses. We made an exception on this occasion. Our intention was not to lecture but to share the regional style of cooking this particular dish, we apologise if this offended you.

Not a good experience, first visit, were served flat alcohol more like water and sqaush. £16 for 12 popadoms and 1 tray of dip, the mint sauce was curdling and the mango was runny like water. Sheekh kebab starter was like mash potato. The curry was bland but edible, very overpriced. £58 for 2 curries, 1 rice, 2 starters and popdoms seemed steep!! Especially when it wasn’t good

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your dining experience with us. However, our menu and prices are displayed outside the restaurant and once again on the menu at the table. Our home made dishes and sauces are always popular with our local and regular customers and would have been happy to replace it for you if as described.

Thought we would try this curry house after visiting Bridgnorth on 1940s weekend. Used to visit 35 years ago. Ordered popadoms to start. These were crispy , however had to pay extra for the sauces. The mango chutney was tasteless, the onion was thick and chunky ( prefer small chopped onion ) The yogurt dip was revolting. Tasteless and had numerous different hairs in it , evidently from different people! From black to short blonde to long blonde to ginger yuk! This sauce must been used time after time and recycled to the next customer. Very disappointed and you should be absolutely ashamed to serve recycled food. The chicken curry contained MSG This kept me awake all night. The nan was tasty Overall disappointed 😞

Probably just had one of the worst Indian meals ever. Bahjis were tasteless, as was the accompanying sauce. My Wifes' main meal was basically a spices up tomato puree and was much hotter than the 'medium' the waiter told her it was going to be. My Madras was also pretty much tasteless due to the extremely hot spices (probably a Vindaloo +). We were the only people in the restaurant and got hurried through each course. Ended up only managing to eat half our mains. Just to top it off, the Nan was burnt and dry. Very expensive based on the poor content. Not going near the place again.

Not impressed. We have been a regular at another restaurant in Bridgnorth but went here for a change. Massively expensive. Poor food In my opinion. Not very tasty. Chicken not nice. Tandori dish was tiny amount of chicken with a bit of salad. Almost £12. Balti tasteless. Poppadums a complete rip off. And the cost of beer eye watering. Will never go back. And it cat nearly £8 more than our usual resturant, for 4 poppadums, chutney, 1 balti 1nann bread and a chicken tandori main and two beers nearly £48. RIP OFF. Anyone who knows Bridgnorth will already know where to go. That's where I'll stick to in future.

I wasn’t going here but the aroma in the street made me look at the menu in the window. 2 poppadoms and a very fresh chutney tray, the most tender best lamb tikka starter I have ever tasted and a Tandoori Biriani with a lovely vegetable curry. I decided to have a man and again it was so fresh, light crispy and fluffy, I haven’t one as good as this before. All washed down with a cold Cobra I couldn’t finish the meal no surprise but it was so tasty and fresh will 100% call again.

This was hands-down one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. Everything was so tasty and fresh, and all the staff are so attentive. The prawn cocktail I ordered had about 20 king prawns in it! The dips and poppadoms were awesome and so tasty. My curry (lamb pathia) was like a party in my mouth. There was no rush for us to leave even though they were super-busy, doggy bags for all uneaten food were offered without us asking. Just bloody amazing!

I’ve read a few bad reviews and really can’t understand why! Were we in the same restaurant? Our curry was one of the best I’ve had - and good curry is my favourite food. We had a selection of dishes, chicken, lamp & vegetable; all were amazing. The service was prompt and the staff friendly.

We’ve been going to Daves for over 20 years (every Friday) and I can safely safe its the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been too, which is saying a lot as I lived in Mumbai for 4 years, so we’ll aware of what good Indian food is..... It’s won the best curry house in Shropshire for several years. I’ve been to all the Indian restaurants in Bridgnorth and they don’t even compare. First class food, first class service and first class staff.......

First time visit for a takeaway after recommendations…was great! Just moved to the area and trying all the Indian restaurants to find the best..and this is head and shoulders above all the others, in our opinion. Gurash was super friendly and you got a good vibe, just from popping into collect. Will be back for a full sit down meal asap.

Went for the first time and enjoyed the food. Service was fantastic, I liked the fact that I was asked how hot I wanted my meal. Food came out quickly and plentiful. The flavours absolutely delicious! Great value for money. Compliments to the chef!

4 Papadums £3.20 and then £3.80 for the chutneys so £7 in all. Asked for mushrooms in my balti which I was charged at an extra £2 - really? Why? We all have a choice in the places we choose to spend our money. Usually eat here at least twice a month but no more. For anyone reading this review I would just say be careful.
