We popped out for a jaunt on the motorbike whilst staying at our caravan, on the way back we decided we fancied a bite to eat. We decided to try Himalaya. And wished we had gone over the road to the Dilraz !!
So, 80%...of the tables empty,
it was 6pm ish so expected and normal for this time of day.
We were ushered to a cramp table of 2, we of course took our jackets and helmets off.
We were ask if we would like some poppadoms and drinks, we ordered both, drinks delivered in a timely manner as were the poppadoms.
We were asked if we were ready to order, so as we were I ordered one starter and my partner 3 starters. And this is where the fun began. As we didn’t want a main course, we were told we HAD to order a main in a very strong manner . Well, we didn’t want one ! So after expressing this the waiter went and checked with the manager if that was ok, we offered to leave and cut our visit short there and then, waiter came back and said that was fine on this occasion but as it was the weekend and a bank holiday it was expected to order a main !!!! Now , 6pm ish , an 80% empty restaurant with a possibility of the restaurant refusing to serve us and turn away revenue ( our bill in the end was £38) and we felt like lepers !! So we ate quickly and left .
All starters were great, bar the prawn on purée,to which I was quite happy to leave with out a fuss until the waiter and the manger decided to try and lecture me on a Prawn on Purée ! VERY CONDESCENDING Not the best experience and certainly won’t be back.More
