Delicious home-cooked food, a fantastic range of fine wines and ales and a warm welcome to all; it’s easy to see why we’re one of the most popular pubs in the Lune Valley. You’ll find us on the main road to Hornby. Under new management the pub welcomes both locals and visitors and provides a relaxing place to enjoy great food and drink. Food is also one of our main priorities and to reflect this we have excellent deals running throughout the week. If you fancy something different then try one of our many specials. Our tasty pub food can be washed down with one of the cask ales or fine wines! We offer live sports on Sky Sports. We also have the traditional pub games of Pool, Darts, Dominoes and

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The best pub food we have had in a long time, worth the 40 min drive to meet family for a meal. We could not fault anything, service, wait time, value for money and quality food! Will definitely be back very soon.

We stayed in the car park for a couple of nights in our motorhome and used the pub for a meal. Staff very friendly and groat food. Lovely pub with a fabulous walking/cycling route opposite which takes you all the way to Morecombe, 8 miles....Would recommend.More

Four friends gathered here as a half way house and we were not disappointed ,great food and service and helpful friendly staff, very big car park and easy to get to from the M6 motorway . We all agreed that we would certainly meet up...here again and enjoy everything they have to offer again.More

A really good pub meal. Tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly and others commented on how good their meals were. Will definitely be revisiting.

I had the salted chicken goujons for my starter, which was only 3 very small slices of chicken 🐔 with a tiny bit of salad enough forva child now I know they were supposed to be salted, but hells bells it tasted like the whole salt...seller was poured on. And the gammon steak was ok with the chips, and again the chips were very salty indeed, and so was the gammon, don't get me wrong the gammon was lovely but again very salty indeed I ate it as I had starved myself the whole day as I knew I was going for my tea, but all in all the meal was OK. Unfortunately I came home very hungry indeed so ordered food of just eat!!!!!!More

We had an excellent dinner here to celebrate my grandsons 20th birthday. Unfortunately the evening was spoilt somewhat by a 10% service charge being added to the bill without our knowledge! A 10% service charge is automatically added for parties of eight or more, but...there was only three of us! They seemed most unhappy when we refused to pay it!More

Fabulous meal with friends ( 27th Nov 2023). Lively and buzzing atmosphere on a Monday night . Excellent service . All 4 of us ordered different meals and two of us altered the meal offered on the menu . All means were excellent , and...very good portion size. Great to see such a successful pub serving wonderful food when so many are skimping , charging more and losing the identity they used to be . Many are closing . Well, they should take a leaf out of The Station at Caton’s book as a good example of how to keep customers returning . I have visited this hotel for lunch and dinner and it is always a high standard . We will return for sureMore

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Both had roast lamb dinner at £18.95 seemed a little steep, so, expectations were high. The generous portion of lamb was lovely, as too weee the mash, roasts and Yorkshire pud. The highlight really were the creamed leeks...with bacon, and the carrot & swede - lovely! We opted for a portion of cauliflower cheese at an extra £3.50, which was ok, but the cheese seemed to be mozzarella so little flavour, a decent cheddar would have helped make it great. Our only gripe though was the gravy. It was very nice, but quite sparing in portion, so I requested done extra, then was surprised at it being an extra £1.50 on the bill. I’ve never been charged extra for gravy before when eating Sunday lunch, in fact an awful lot of places offer extra when serving as it’s such an integral part of the meal. It won’t stop us returning though, as overall it was very good.More

The Station catered for us even though we were a big group and , as always, the quality was very good. I had the salmon fettucine but many of the group had hanging tandooris which had good reviews. There was quite a long service time...but we were a big group (almost 20) and all the food came at the same time.More
