Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This review is four and a half years too late. June 2019 is stated below on the review, but we stayed at the nearby Sugar Beach House hotel back in June 2015 and ate at this restaurant three times a day. If things are still...the same, then this is the best overall eating experience I've had in the Philippines: The location was stunning: on secluded Sugar Beach along the edge of dense jungle forestry with the only way to and from Sipalay City via a 20 minute bangka ride. It is an open-aired restaurant with wide views of the beach, ocean and sunset. The sea breeze and overhead fans help to create a pleasant and relaxing experience. The large all day menu was served from 6 am till 10 pm. The weather in June did not allow us to stay out later than 6 pm, and so we had our evening meal at 5 pm. The service was fine and the owner was very approachable and friendly. The portions were generous and everything we had from the menu was excellent. Chicken Cordon Bleu was an excellent main course item: a chicken breast wrapped in cheese and bacon, then breaded and shallow-fried. Please note that dairy products are not available in the Philippines, so the cheese was processed, but this hardly detracted from the overall quality and value. I also remember the omelette being very good, as well as the banana split dessert. We sampled several dishes from the menu and although everything was excellent, we can no longer recall what those items were. We didn't really use the bar, and only ordered soft drinks and fruit shakes to compliment our meals.More

After we ordered our food we asked for the Wifi Password. The answer was clear and unfriendly. Wifi is only available for our overnight staying guests! We never experienced that before..... We left immediately

Huge servings - worth the prices! The carbonara serving was good for 2-3 people! As for their mixed salad - never knew chinese pechay could substitute for lettuce. Pizza was a little small in size but packed!

Big servings of food. The meals are cooked upon order and you can guarantee that is fresh. Pizza and coffee are must try! Additional advantage is the beautiful view that will increase your appetite :)

What a beautiful place, but the owner (German) needs to be in a different business. I am 50 years in the hospitality industry and I never saw anything like this treatment towards guests. After I asked the owner if this place has free Wifi, he...verbally insulted me in front of my four friends, who are by the way in the same business. After 1.32 hour wait my dish was served. My hungry four friends stared at me hoping for their food. At 1.42 hour wait the next two dishes were served. Five minutes later another dish and a soup was served exactly after 2 hours. Wow, I didn't know that soup takes that long to cook, especially when we were the only table in the restaurant. The food was edible, but nothing to rave about. I don't understand why this place has so many 5 star reviews?More

Very nice and comfortable bungalows in the calm Sugar Beach. There's no aircon, but we didn't need it either, the fan was more than enough. The food was good, but if you're staying for a few nights make sure to try out some of the...restaurants in other resorts as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend staying here, the value is unbeatable in the Philippines.More

I dropped in here for a light lunch of a crumbed pork sandwich and a cold SML. I found that there were far to many raw onions on the sandwich which I found very overpowering. Venue is nice and rustic with sand floors. Despite there...being several staff in the corner doinf some preparation service was quite poor. I have also returned in the evenings to have a beer and its a great spot for taking photos of the sunset. The European owner was friendly and enjoyed a drink or two himself during the sunset.More
