Excellent Thai chicken curry, a rare find in this part of France. Very friendly staff and good service in a great location.

Delicious Thai curry!!! It was a perfect meal at a very reasonable price. I had the choice to sit outside in the warm autumnal sunshine.
The most unprofessional, rude, ignorant and ill mannered barman we have ever experienced. It is so apparent that this gentleman does not enjoy his job. When questioned about the short measure of our drinks, he became very abusive and foul mouthed. Other than this we...had a fabulous afternoon at our annual visit to Domfront Medieval Festival.More
I visited Bar au Normand for an evening drink as it is such a beautiful looking building and I had to try it out. I was under the impression that you approach a member of staff behind a bar and place an order for a...drink.I was wrong. The bar person looked at me as if I wanted her credit card details. When I made my usually pathetic effort to order in French, she smirked at the customers she was talking to before I interrupted. We had our drinks and searched for a more professional establishment. I noticed of the 23 reviews this business received, only seven excellent ones can be viewed, the rest are not available.Curious.Nice beer though.More
Great little cozy bar with great choice of beer and the best tasting Thai food I’ve had in France……. The owners were brilliant and friendly
This little gem of a bar/restaurant was a delightful surprise! The decor, the location and the perfect balance of Thai and French cuisine. We had the nemes which are delicious rolls created by Taya with a secret recipe: to die for. You have to stop...in to try these. Won’t find them anywhere else. I had the Thai Chicken with cashew sauce and I could have sworn I was in Thailand. This is food you’d expect in major high-class restaurants. And to find all this deliciousness in a small bar in Normandie was truly delightful. Étienne is the perfect French host, thoughtful and attentive. Almost made me want to move to Normandie to be close to this bar. I’m sad that it’s still cold outside as I would have loved to sit on the terrace to try everything on the menu over a good bottle of wine or a glass of poirée and finish all with a shot of calvados !! And Etienne can welcome you in English French Italian Spanish: I forget the number of languages he speaks and of course Taya will be delighted to teach you a few words in Thai. Taya and Etienne your place, the food, the ambiance deserve 10 Stars!! I must come back tomorrow to try the Green Curry Chicken that everyone raves about. Till next time.More
After a leisurely stroll around Domfront, we stopped for something to eat and drink. The service was friendly and the food delicious. Would definitely recommend a visit.
With friends we decided to go for our regular Fridays drinks in Domfront, as our regular bars were on Vacance Annuelle. After a drink at the bar Central we wandered up the hill into the old town. We ordered drinks on the terrace at Au...Bar Normand and saw that on the blackboard that Thai food was available. Ordering a couple of starters to enjoy as tapas, we enjoyed it so much we made a second order followed by ordering the Thai curries. The French Patron and his Thai wife have transformed this bar/restaurant in the 14 months they have been here. The couple are very welcoming and the food was fantastic. So what was going to be just an evening drink ended up as an evening out. We loved the food and the ambiance and will definitely be returning. Even in winter the interior will be a cosy place for us to enjoy a drink and dinner.More
Much has been said already by others within their reviews. The new owners : Simply delightful , professional and a credit to the town of Domfront. Go see for yourselves, one visit will not be enough.
A rare find these days, a great bar with fabulous food. The host is warm and welcoming and happy to give advice about local sites. I really recommend this bar in a beautiful location
Great food, you can choose between french galettes or crepes and Thai dishes! The new owners are a young and nice couple and their bar is one of the best places to hang out in the weekend if you’re in domfront or just to stop...by for an after work drink or if you’re visiting old city center. I really advice the salted caramel crepes, everything is home made and it is just delicious !More
Thank you so much and see you soon !
