I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this experience. The restaurant is set in a very old building in Buxtehude. The atmosphere is homely and cosy - though it can get very warm inside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and produced an English menu when requested. There is a lot of choice on the menu; I tried the Weinerschnitzel (Vierländer... More

Visited friends in Jork and had meal here one evening. Excellent value albeit a little pricey but nice staff and lovely setting as we were seated upstairs. Charming old building and would return.

I had a three course menu, and let's say that the servings were "ample". Being half British, my manners dictate that the plate should return to the kitctchen empty - didn't happen in this case (not that the food was to blame). Fantastic creamed mushroom soup for starters, followed by a Schnitzel with red wine sauce, mash with truffles and... More

Great old-world historic charm. The building has long interesting history dating back hundreds of years. Food and service was great. Local specialities offered. Waiters was friendly and explained details in English.

We have eaten several times at the Abthaus and this time we had Grunkohl which is very seasonal local dish. Fantastic wine list, excellent friendly service and splendid value. A must do.

We recently dined here with a very large group of people and I can honestly say they were very accommodating and welcoming. The menu selection has something for everyone and the food was well prepared and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very nice to spend time in. I would recommend this restaurant and go back next time I... More

The selection is ample so that everyone can find something to eat. The food is very well prepared and top quality. The service was very friendly. The historic abbot's home is a unique setting with beautifully restored woodwork that makes for a very comfortable setting. With 3 courses and drinks for about 35 Euro, I would definitely here again.

Thank Michael K
