We arrived famished, ascended the stairs and were met by the members of the third and fourth generation of this beautifully restored, family owned restaurant. Sitting high in the hill, it overlooks the beautiful town and is right near the entrance to the churches we had traveled to see. The staff was informative attentive and went the extra mile to... This taverna is very close to Mystras World Heritage Site and has a wonderful view over the valley. There is parking directly in front of it, just across the road. When we visited, the overall feeling was that it is in need of some sort of update or injection of enthusiasm. The previous diners' soiled paper table cloth was left... More

Lovely simple family taverna with honest local food and wine. Family have very good knowledge of all local food and wine, dishes are flavoursome and local wines very drinkable. Relaxed casual visit.

The salad was well done and tasty with plenty of olives and feta. The mixed grill consisted of three lamb chops, not quality cuts,... More

We just got back from Greece... We stayed at Mystras for a few days and discovered this wonderful taverna called "Marmara" which means "marble". They serve authentic greek food and it's sooo delicious!!! Outstanding! Lamb was so tender, so juicy and tasty! Greek salad with feta cheese and olives, fried eggplant..... OMG! I couldn't stop eating! Great food, home atmosphere,... More

We just ordered few small bites as we were not very hungry but all dishes were poor quality. Olives very so acid that we did not manage to eat them, Vine leaves with rice and meat were in weird whitish sause and tasted like from can. Restaurant has nice location but it was spoiled by bad food.

On the road up to the Mystras Archeological site this taverna has beautiful views over the countryside, very friendly service and big portions of fresh tasty food.
