This place is a must try when in Puglia. It is a restaurant and a butcher shop at the same time. So you go in, choose your meat cut, or selection of tasters/platter like selections such as sausages and liver dishes, and they cook it for you in an old wood burning oven. The meat is really good, the atmosphere... More

You visit the butcher to select your meat choices which are then baked in a wood fired oven. FYI-the meat tends to be on the rare side. The food and the service were very good. These were the best baked potatoes we have ever eaten. If you're looking for a meal that is meat based, this is an excellent choice,... More

Nice place where you can select meat from the butcher, which is then prepared at a fire place. The house wine comes at a stunning price of €5/ltr and is nice! Quick service by good staff. We would suggest to remove the TV and change music (not listen to the radio).

Can't fault the meat choice but very limited starters and side dishes - no-one asked if everything was alright and we were'nt offered desserts or coffees, would'nt return.

It's a local meat restaurant. The quality was excellent and also the service. You can choose the meat you want to eat and then they cook for you ate the moment.

This was the second restoring we have visited in Cisternino. The first time when we came we went to another restaurant which was fabulous but we wanted to try also this one. I have to admit that all of them are quite similar and in general you can't miss. We had fiorentina, bombette and salsica and every thing was great.... More

Restaurant is well located off the main square. Has tables indoors and outside. Expect a little rough and readiness when ordering the meat at the counter - but once you have sorted this, the waiters are pleasant at the table and the meat tastes amazing. Price is fair. Overall an interesting experience and a good meal out.

We visited Zio Pietro twice. Both in the evening. It opens Sharply at 7.30pm - not a second before. On night 1 we arrived at 8ish and all outdoor seats were taken - We had an indoor seat but actually loved it. All very busy - pick your meat from the butchers counter - then take your seat and order... More

Something different than pasta and pizza! You can choose your own meat and it is grilled for you. Very good quality. You can order side dishes from the menu, salad, potatoes. Very nice experience. You sit in the small streets of Cisternino town centre.

We drove all the way from Lecce to specifically check out this restaurant and the hour and 15 minute drive was entirely worth it! The meat selection was phenomenal, the preparation was "perfetto", and we loved everything about it. This restaurant is open quite late, and was also fairly busy so it was well prepared to accommodate our late arrival.... More
