Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I ordered Alici del Cantabrico (anchovies) as a started. They arrived not fresh as I was expecting by the sea but still in a tin with a few pieces of toast with butter. The waiters were not interested. I paid €18 for the privilege!!!

Avoid! Food is average and they are known for trying to overcharge. They added 2 extra bottles of wine on our bill and we had friends who experience similar issues on a separate occasion .

Rip off. They bring you food you didn’t ask. Bad service and over price. This restaurant is one of our worst decisions. The food is not bad but why Im going to a place that are trying to take advantage

This was one of the worst experience we ever had in restaurants. We came hungry for dinner. I ordered a sea bass gratin - it said the gratin was made from julienne potatoes, zuccinnies and almonds. It didnt say anywhere that I would get a...filet. This is however exactly what I received - a very small filet, covered mainly with crumbs, there was literally ZERO potatoes inside. When I asked the waiter if he maybe forgot about potatoes, he said “they are in the gratin mix”. After this I was of course still hungry, however we just wanted to go. We asked for a receipt and waited for 30 minutes till we had enough and my husband went inside to pay. That is where the shock came. THEY CHARGED US 36 € for my filet, and wrote that I received 600 g of fish!!! We couldn’t accept this and started a discussion with the main waiter what the hell is this, I received a small fillet (max 200g) and I am charged 600 g and watch this - they told us that they weighed half of the fish and it was 600 g, so they cut out only the fillet from this half but still charged me 600g. Meaning I should pay for the fish I never received! That is literally theft and cheating! You will pay for something you will never get. Think if that is really what you want.More

A rip off. When we received the check they added extra bottles of water and an extra carbonara. Seeing as we were only two people it was easy to spot. Of course we had to argue but eventually they did reduce the bill along with...very sarcastic comments about tourists on vacation. I cannot recommend this place for Americans.More

My dish was not finished and taken away from the table (when I just went away 2minutes to see fish in the aquarium with my son), got no apologies for that. Feel bitter as I keep the best bits for the end. When my son...went to the toilet the waiter took his chair away. The fish of the day of my husband was good. Not sure I would recommend this place.More

Italian/Japanese Sushi restaurant. Great service - quickly organized a table for 10. Magnificent food in a very nice touristy settling. Pick of the menu were the Dulce Vita sushi rolls and the tuna in a peanut crust, but everyone’s meal was great other than the...lobster pasta where there was light on the pasta.More

La Dolce Vita is located in Monopoli's main square in the old town called Piazza Garibaldi. It is the biggest and argueably the most expensive restaurant in town. The restaurant gets full every night we stayed in Monopoli and the waiters are rushing around all...the time. We were there early at 7.30pm which is early by Monopoli standards, hence we got a good table. Our food was good but not exceptional. The wine list is the most comprehensive by some margin that I have seen in Monopoli. If you fancy a big blow out then this place is for you.More

We have been in Monopoli for three days. We arrived in Monopoli in the late afternoon. So the time to leave our baggae and we go arround for the old town. We saw this beautiful restaurant and we deiceded to have dinner. Our order included...an appetizer for one person, two main courses with pasta and seafood, a fish for both and one 20€ wine bottle. When we received the appetizer, we notice it was so poor that we were forced to order a second one, but we tried another apptizer hoping it was more rich. Also the second one was wery poor. When we received the main course of past, only 4 pieces of pasta were in each dish. After the dinner we paid together 210€. The price were absolutely not adequate for the quantity and quality of the dishes. During the night we vomited everithing, so to we were forced to go the the hospital. We are not completely sure that it dependend by that food, however for launch we only ate white focaccia on the beach of Polignano, bought from a very crowded bakery. Very bad experiece.More

Good food not great. Service was very unfriendly and disinterested. After great service throughout Puglia over the last 9 days this stood out for the wrong reasons.

We had dinner here as the place we wanted to go was closed and this was nearby. It was fine. We ate in several restaurants in the course of our holiday and this wasn’t one of the best but that’s a high bar in Puglia....The food was nice, the staff pleasant and we enjoyed the wine. The cavernous space is nice.More

Don’t trust the dishes off the menu. The waiter recommended the blue lobster risotto, minimum for 2 people. The risotto was overcooked. The flavour was given only by the mint leaves used as decoration. I left some risotto on the plate. But the surprise came...when I saw the bill of 80€ for the two risotto dishes only, apart from the other orders and the drinks. I was wrong to no ask the cost, but I saw some bad intention from the waiter. Don’t trust off-menu dishes and immediately dispute if you don’t like something.More

Our group of 11 friends started the afternoon very disappointing, because we encountered a massive down pour of rain for over 4 hours. Our highlight began at 7:30 pm when entered La Dolce Vita Ristorante. We were welcomed in a very beautiful setting and enjoyed...the food and the ambiance. The food was really very special, because we had several selections of Antipasti, which are among the best I have seen. For the quantity of food and wine, we were pleasantly surprised how reasonable the prices are.More

I’m surprised there are many less than stellar reviews of this restaurant as our lunch, our last in Italy after three weeks, was probably our best meal in Puglia. We tried calamari with black ink and a dish that had baked pizza dough on top...with fat pasta and an abundance of seafood in yummy sauce underneath. It might be a bit pricier than other places but we’ll worth every euro.More
