Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very kind service, good quality food and fair prices. Orecchiette with come di rape are super tasty. Also nice view from the veranda in warm days. Recommended

We got here pretty late for lunch (15:00) and even though the kitchen was closed, they were still able to provide us with enough food for 4 people (if not 5!). And not just any food, AMAZING food! They brought a selection of local cheeses...and salumi with honey and apricot jam dips. The apricot jam was like juice, the best I've ever had. In addition to this they brought various cooked vegetables, a parmigiana and a zucchini with potato bake. All of it was incredibly delicious, and the wine (susumaniello) too, which came from a local winery. The coffee was lip-smacking and served, a it should be, in a warm cup. Thank you to the chef and the kind waitress with short black hair and a fork bracelet for saving our stomachs on such a hot day and at such an unusual time. Also, the location is fantastic, literally an oasis in a desert of burnt, arid fields in June.More

Tasty dinner, carefully prepared with fresh ingredients. Portions are generous and they also accommodated our request for vegetarian options. Very pleasant atmosphere and stunning view from the terrace. Highly recommended.

I can't really judge the quality of this place, because although Trip Advisor said this restaurant was open and so their website, in fact the place was closed! Even more irritating, beside the locked door there's a sign stating "open all year" with 2 phone...numbers we called in vane. Customers should be treated with more respect. You can open or close, but you have to clearly announce it.More

We came here after reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor and I can confirm the location is great with lots of outside space and view of the sea. Kids have lots of room to play. The food was good but not as exceptional as some...of the reviews said.More

The food here was just delicious! The parmigiana had an outstanding taste and the pasta with meatballs were to die for! Try the red house-wine, at 3.5€ per 0.5l it is very reasonably priced and tasted fantastic! Highly recommended!!

We have been waiting awhile to have Sunday lunch at this restaurant. It is almost impossible to get a table without a reservation - it seems that many Italian families/groups have Sunday lunch here. We booked a table a few days ago as we wanted...to enjoy the beautiful sunny day on their terrace overlooking the picturesque fields and the sea. We were greeted and seated at a nice table with a view as requested when we booked. So far, so good! As usual, it was fully booked. Our order was taken without too much waiting - we ordered one house antipasto platter to share between us, then a pasta dish to share, then one main to share. Our drinks arrived promptly along with a plate of pittule (savory fried dough balls which are local specialties). Then the service got slow. I'm sure the house starter is pre-prepared as it is popular, so all that is necessary is to plate it and make sure that anything that should be warmed up is warm. It finally arrived, nicely plated. The meat and seafood items that were supposed to be hot were lukewarm, the rest were served cold or at room temp. Nothing special, but ok. Then we waited a minimum of 30 minutes for our pasta dish. It was served with a tomato & meat sauce with toasted almonds. Nice presentation, but the sauce was too salty. I truly forget how long it took to get the main course. The manager could see that we were feeling neglected so she came out to see what our table number was. The flies were quite annoying, so the wait seemed forever. By the time the main arrived I was no longer interested. It was stuffed calamari, but it was not worth waiting for at all. The calamari rings were overcooked and stuffed with some soggy breadcrumb mixture in a tomato sauce. We usually order coffee and something sweet, but not this time. We wanted to escape the flies and enjoy the rest of the beautiful weather. With a bottle of wine, water and cover it was 58 euro.More

I had read great reviews about that place and I absolutely wanted to go for lunch. Here's a tip if you are driving from Otranto: you have to take the SP87 (Santa Cesaria direction) and you'll find it at kilometer 8. The GPS took us...to the wrong place twice, so I had to call the restaurant to get the directions. But it's totally worth the trip! First, the setting is amazing. We sat on the terrace under huge pine trees, with a view of the sea in the background. I took the eggplant raviolis with vegetable sauce. Since they have their own garden, the vegetables and edible flowers on the plate were incredibly fresh, tasty and colourful. My partner had the orecchiettes with polpettas and ricotta. Comfort food at it's best! If you go to Otranto, don't miss out!More

Driving along the SP87 from Otranto to Porto Badisco you could be forgiven for missing this place altogether - if it wasn't for my wife's insistence that there could be something very interesting at the end of the gravel driveway, we would have missed it...ourselves. It was lunchtime on a hot, dry mid-summer day, we were hungry but had no reservation and no access to on-line reviews so this was a total leap into the unknown. That said, we have found some awesome restaurants this way in the past and this time proved to be no exception. The restaurant is shrouded in trees with a wide, covered outside balcony overlooking the gardens. There were quite a few diners outside, mostly speaking Italian including a large multi-generation family group so the signs were good - if the locals like the place it's probably very good. We were warmly welcomed and provided with one of the most comprehensive menus I've seen in a long time. I don't recollect what either of us ate but I can say it was all well-cooked, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Service was attentive but totally un-rushed, which was exactly what we needed and the pricing, I felt, was remarkably reasonable. Agriturismo Tenuta Sant'emilliano is a gem of a place and we wouldn't hesitate to go back. It was so good we did go back the following day and were welcomed like good friends. We weren't disappointed this time either.More

I am from Lecce. I did not know this place, it is completely lost in my wonderful country. The view is extraordinary. Our table was close to the border to look outside while eating. We ordered antipasti, 2 types and 2 main courses. Everything was...tasty and accurate. The plates were presented in a delicious way. I also bought the vegetables from there, super cheap!!! Thanks I am so proud of you and how you represent our wonderful peninsula.More
