Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Off the main Corso, up a side street, a few Tables inside and more outside, typical trattoria style with delicious food and friendly, helpful happy people. The Sicilian caponata is to die for (I wish o could take it back to the UK), the fish...dishes were delicious and well cooked. We had eaten gelato late afternoon so could not fit a desert in. Defo worth finding and I’d say booking in busier times. Thank you all.More

There was a little mix up with our order, however when the food arrived it was excellent. The starter of fried mixed vegetables delivered some superb flavours.

The plates served were good and I understand why it appears in the top local places. Service is very slow so maybe October is out of the busy season. Mistakes in my bill that I realised later. Will pass next time.

This was a wonderful sicilian eating experience! Don't be put off by the lack of decor. The food is amazing and Anna the owner apologized that there were no tables. But if we sat inside she could make space! The best pistachio gnocchi of 5...weeks in Sicily and the best mussels in Italy!!! Friendly and warm !! Off the main Corso and tucked away!!More

Food was so delicious so good. The Ravioli first dish so good wanted to order an other one. The salad also very good. Fish also fresh. We needed to wait a bit because of too many people but the waiters were friendly with a smile...and nice.More

Went here for the grilled and fried seafood. All the pastas we tried and the seafood was very good. Reasonable prices and great service.

Amazing food, friendly staff. Highly recommend eating here, but make sure to call ahead to reserve as it is hard to find a spot

the owner was a very interesting yet devious person, she welcomed us nicely at first but when the bill came she tried to convince us that she would have given us a discount based on how we were going to pay the bill (cash or...card). The food wasn’t very good either, to be honest i feel like the Caponata I tried was a little too oily. There was a cute little cat there tho :)More

I started to write a detailed description of our experience but the memory is too painful to recount. I am ashamed to admit that I was conned into this classic tourist scam. Our only regret was that we did not refuse to pay for the...dreadful and overpriced food we were given, probably cooked long time ago. We were just happy to get out, learn our lesson and never go back in. With hindsight, that was a mistake and one that we will never repeat anywhere else.More

We discovered this gem by coincidence. Its a very small place with just 4 tables. We were welcomed by Ada the owner who runs the place. She made us ( and our dog) comfortable. She has a great selection of wines and the menu dhows...lical dishes. We tried the caponata ( best of Sicily) , the prawns and the swordfish. All very good. We can highly recommend.More

A small gem worth discovering! We dined at La Carretteria the two evenings we stayed in Noto. Ada is a warm host who managed to befriend our shy little girl and Domenico is a wonderful cook! The food was delicious! Fresh, tasty and cooked to...perfection. We tried the caponata, the tagliatelle with mussels and pistachio sauce, the tuna, the swordfish and the calamari ! We had both the fried calamari and the calamari in the Sicilian way. Everything was perfect! Crowned with the most delicious cannoli (for once the ricotta filling was nicely cheesy and not too sweet, very balanced). I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly and would love to come back! Love from “la mamma di Zoe” Please note that this restaurant is small so book a table or dress adequately to eat outside (we visited in April when the evenings were a bit chilly).More

Tucked away in a quiet side street just off the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Small family-run restaurant with about 10 tables outside (did not check inside). Perfect for lunch. Local dishes, well cooked and simply presented. Lunch for 4 with two starters, two primi, water and...a large bottle of beer was €68.More

Imagine stomping into an Italian family party. The hostess Ada welcomes you warmly, like one of her own. Domenico's dishes, the Caponata Siciliana, are as honest as they are delicious, and the hospitality is so authentic and lively. We ate there for three evenings, that's...how much we enjoyed it.More
