Very interesting place and lovely food. Also a great 2nd hand book shop. The building is set amongst a nice garden and bush.

Ideally placed for eating either before or after riding the DCR. No quick take away other than cake as everything freshly prepared. Sit outside or in. Vegetarian experience. Good place.

It gets super packed after each ride so get there as soon as you leave the train. I didn't realise it only serves vegetarian food but you can still find nice treats there. Spend some time at the bookstore when you're waiting for your food, you may find some gems there.

We enjoyed this little café. It's vegan I believe which disappointed my husband but he didn't have any trouble at all eating 1/2 my yummy bagel choice!

Fantastic muesli that keeps you going till evening. Great bagel options with fresh avocado, self made pesto, cream cheese. You can also have the usual cooked breakfast but after weeks of bacon and eggs, I was happy to finally have found a café that offers healthy food. The staff is very helpful and attentive. There is a little sandpit with... More

I had a burger, which was flavoursome despite the lack of meat (Im very much a meat-eater) I believe it was a mushroom one, and would have had things like Kumara and feta. The price was reasonable, and I would go there again if the occasion arose. It was a short walk down the road from the carpark for the... More

Description
The Driving Creek Cafe is one of the best kept secrets of Coromandel Town - a warm and homely vegetarian cafe with a magical ambiance that may just keep you there enjoying the fine coffee or teas and delicious home made meals and cakes for much longer than you originally intended. Unless of course you're on a train, in which case we will prepare your order with much speed and gusto! You will also find fresh pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, and incredible homemade Chai whose recipe was procured after years of dedicated service to a Master Artisan. The Driving Creek Cafe has organic loose-leaf teas and great LaLa organic coffee. Enjoy our freshly baked gourmet cakes and scones, falafel burgers, breakfasts and a great range of toasted sandwiches, tasty beaches and salads. For keeping in contact we do have great unlimited free Wi-Fi. Allow yourself enough time to check out the collection of Mick the Plumber's stunning puzzle boxes showcasing Coromandel's unique tolerance for what may be considered art or drop in for one of our live rants. Discover the peace of our garden with a sandpit and playhouse for the children or put your feet up on the wide sun-drenched deck. Get ready for a treat. We look forward to serving you!
