We enjoyed this little café. It's vegan I believe which disappointed my husband but he didn't have any trouble at all eating 1/2 my yummy bagel choice!

Fantastic muesli that keeps you going till evening. Great bagel options with fresh avocado, self made pesto, cream cheese. You can also have the usual cooked breakfast but after weeks of bacon and eggs, I was happy to finally have found a café that offers healthy food. The staff is very helpful and attentive. There is a little sandpit with... More

I had a burger, which was flavoursome despite the lack of meat (Im very much a meat-eater) I believe it was a mushroom one, and would have had things like Kumara and feta. The price was reasonable, and I would go there again if the occasion arose. It was a short walk down the road from the carpark for the... More

This cafe is not where the train leaves from, but en route and not far from it, set back from the road up a few steps. There is a small amount of parking at the top of a narrow driveway, otherwise parking on the road. The cafe itself could be described as "rustic" with mixed tables and chairs and a... More

My family and I visited here while we waited to board the Stony Creek Railway and are so pleased we did. We were not expecting the quality of food. It's all vegetarian but OH MY GOD -the freshness - the flavour! memories flooded back of food experienced in Thailand and Laos! This is a must place to visit. You can... More

A good place to detour from the main town, even if you are not heading this direction. Good food for vegetarians and vegans.

Great place to go if you love fresh, healthy and organic food. Good coffee and very personalised service. Friendly and approachable staff, delicious fresh food and prompt service. Set in a beautiful location where you can easily lose hours daydreaming in bliss over a delicious coffee.

Very strange and quirky mix of second hand books and food. Whole place looks a little dirty but we ventured in. Food was ok, coffee was good. A little garden area available for children and several customers with their dogs. Not wheelchair friendly.

Description
The Driving Creek Cafe is one of the best kept secrets of Coromandel Town - a warm and homely vegetarian cafe with a magical ambiance that may just keep you there enjoying the fine coffee or teas and delicious home made meals and cakes for much longer than you originally intended. Unless of course you're on a train, in which case we will prepare your order with much speed and gusto! You will also find fresh pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, and incredible homemade Chai whose recipe was procured after years of dedicated service to a Master Artisan. The Driving Creek Cafe has organic loose-leaf teas and great LaLa organic coffee. Enjoy our freshly baked gourmet cakes and scones, falafel burgers, breakfasts and a great range of toasted sandwiches, tasty beaches and salads. For keeping in contact we do have great unlimited free Wi-Fi. Allow yourself enough time to check out the collection of Mick the Plumber's stunning puzzle boxes showcasing Coromandel's unique tolerance for what may be considered art or drop in for one of our live rants. Discover the peace of our garden with a sandpit and playhouse for the children or put your feet up on the wide sun-drenched deck. Get ready for a treat. We look forward to serving you!
