A good place to detour from the main town, even if you are not heading this direction. Good food for vegetarians and vegans.

Great place to go if you love fresh, healthy and organic food. Good coffee and very personalised service. Friendly and approachable staff, delicious fresh food and prompt service. Set in a beautiful location where you can easily lose hours daydreaming in bliss over a delicious coffee.

Very strange and quirky mix of second hand books and food. Whole place looks a little dirty but we ventured in. Food was ok, coffee was good. A little garden area available for children and several customers with their dogs. Not wheelchair friendly.

Enjoy the wonderful creative efforts of a man who spent a good part of his life constructing a superb railway. Well presented with informative and friendly staff. We had good weather but I imagine it would be a different experience on a cold rainy day.

This is a quirky cafe close to the Driving Creek Railway and has a lovely atmosphere. There is plenty of reading material available if you want to relax and take your time.

Its many years since we travelled on this little custom made railway up to the Eyeful Tower! A fantastic piece of engineering and vision by the late Barry Brickell up into the bush behind his pottery and developed over many years. Unfortunately it was a very showery day but everyone enjoyed the ride. On a fine day the views from... More

Visiting the Driving Creek Café messed with my head slightly because my family used to own the property and my mental image of it is still as a lovingly maintained white farmhouse with an immaculate cottage garden and rambling orchards. These days the old girl is a little worse for wear but she's dressed in cheerful red and blue stripes,... More

Driving creek cafe is must to visit when in coromandle. The drink menu has a wide range of smoothies and juices all of which are very yum. The food is of high quality and reasonably healthy. Part of the café holds a book shop with a good collection of books.

Description
The Driving Creek Cafe is one of the best kept secrets of Coromandel Town - a warm and homely vegetarian cafe with a magical ambiance that may just keep you there enjoying the fine coffee or teas and delicious home made meals and cakes for much longer than you originally intended. Unless of course you're on a train, in which case we will prepare your order with much speed and gusto! You will also find fresh pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, and incredible homemade Chai whose recipe was procured after years of dedicated service to a Master Artisan. The Driving Creek Cafe has organic loose-leaf teas and great LaLa organic coffee. Enjoy our freshly baked gourmet cakes and scones, falafel burgers, breakfasts and a great range of toasted sandwiches, tasty beaches and salads. For keeping in contact we do have great unlimited free Wi-Fi. Allow yourself enough time to check out the collection of Mick the Plumber's stunning puzzle boxes showcasing Coromandel's unique tolerance for what may be considered art or drop in for one of our live rants. Discover the peace of our garden with a sandpit and playhouse for the children or put your feet up on the wide sun-drenched deck. Get ready for a treat. We look forward to serving you!
