We came here recently for a private party. The food provided was excellent and extensive. There was a separate cash bar outside with a select choice of drinks. The pub itself has a good choice of drinks with a good selection of gins! Must go...More

This is a freindly country pub with above average food and the best Liver and Bacon I have ever been served. Very comfortable surroundings. The kind of local that used to be quite common but are now scarce. Best of all neither Sky or BT...More

Lovely enough pub but my first two options were not available. The food was lovely but the whole experience was rather ruined by the lack of choices.More

Thanks for your comments on Trip advisor. What a shame about not having your first two options available, so sorry about that. You don't say if they were from the specials board (which we only have a limited amount available) or the main menu. I...More

An early evening meal in the garden of this lovely country pub. A very friendly welcome from the landlady who provided great efficient service, whilst browsing the menu was advised of the daily specials together with a couple of dishes that chef was just bringing...More

We visited for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent. Pub roasts are normally overcooked meat and veg, this was delicious and nothing overcooked in sight. Service was great. They were having a gin festival whilst we were there, great idea and we enjoyed the gins....More

This is very much a pub pub, and they laid on a fantastic gin festival. We didn't try the food but it's not really for kids in the evening.

Our group of about 25 were warmly welcomed in the morning and lunch orders taken. I had the salmon and prawn salad which was very tasty and plentiful. The skinny fries were great. I had home made crumble and custard as a dessert. All our...More

We visited last week for Sunday lunch, but have been here many times, and it is always excellent. The food is traditional country pub fare, home cooked, with some excellent modern alternatives. My son loves the steak and ale pie, and the Sunday roast is...More

Extremely welcoming family owned traditional country pub in the heart of the South Downs. We specialise in local produce for our home cooked (proper!)pies and puddings and excellent Sunday roasts. We love our locale Real Ales which are changed regularly. We love walkers, ramblers, cyclists, shoots, families and dogs, along with locals and visitors to the area. We have a lovely dining room, always sunny and bright, ideal for intimate lunches and dinners and a great beer garden and patio to enjoy the Downs views. Go on, give it a try! we look forward to seeing you
