Ok so we fancied going here after reading some good reviews. The owner makes the place, he really does. Nice, friendly but I think his lack of English or my lack of Italian?? We ordered the selection of cold meats and cheese for our starters...More

A glass of red for €1.50! Peroni on tap for €4. Nice meats and cheeses. Great setting. And what a character the owner is!

As you can see in the pictures this is a typical place, not fancy at all, plastic plates etc, so it compensates in atmosphere and quality of food and kind service.

We went for aperitif before dinner and thought we’d try the Aubergine quiche as a snack. Aristo bought us out 4 slices saying one wasn’t enough. It was delicious and he is quite a character. We were too full for dinner afterwards though.

Tonight we drank fantastic Brunello, ate delicious local meat and cheeses and the best quiche of my life, and met our new favorite person in the universe, Giovanni. This place is not to be missed! Every taste was served with kindness and the flavor of...More

Positives: Good quality food and wine generally. Flamboyant owner is an interesting presence. Popular with multilingual tourists. Negatives: Food served in ghastly landfill-destined plastic plates and with plastic cutlery (made worse by being quite out of sync with the local culinary culture) - I was...More

If you haven't had a change to experience Da Aristo, drop everything and do it. Do it now! We love this place. It's an unassuming little place that exudes small town Italy. Having ancestral ties to Barga, we feel those ties strongly here watching the...More

Some might call it a “hole in the wall” but we decided that “hidden treasure” was a better description. This tiny bar is tucked away within the original city walls of Barga and a must-stop on Sunday evening when the local musicians are playing. We...More

We were recently in Barga and stumbled upon this quaint little bar/cafe on our first night. Wow! The quiche is outstanding, the wine is yummy...but it is sitting out on the piazza that pulls it all together. Loved the impromptu live music, and especiallyloved Giovanni,...More
