Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ideal spot if travelling to Kildare village, Newbridge Silverware shop. The team here are really on the ball from the friendly reception to the crew in the restaurant. The room was modern, looked freshly decorated & the shower was luxury with rituals shower gels &...shampoos. I would be happy to come back.More

Decided to go to Kildare town. The only place that seemed to be busy was Silken Thomas. The food was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. Very busy spot so booking is advisable. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in Silken Thomas for one night but eat there three times, lunch, dinner and breakfast. We have no complaints about the food or service as both were excellent. We stayed in the spotlessly clean, quirky ( but in a nice way) Postmaster's House...and our grandchildren loved it! From our arrival to our departure the staff were exceptional - definitely 5 star service.More

Very disappointed with our meal today as the portion sizes was miserable. We got two thin slices of turkey and one quarter of a roast potato. The kids roast beef was minimal and lacked enthusiasm. We were overcharged with the kids meal which we queried...and the Manager said we could have 10% off the bill which was not deducted fully. No service with a smile also. Waste of money and I will never return.More

Spent the weekend with friends in Silken Thomas and had no complaints whatsoever.Rooms nicely decorated, comfortable beds, modern bathroom and delicious food in the restaurant Booking a meal is advisable as restaurant can be very busy with both public and guests and live music in bar...has limited space also. The roast beef with rich gravy was the best meal of our two day stay and the full Irish breakfast was also excellent.More

I was here for one nights accommodation on a stop over after a meeting and it was fantastic, the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Walk in shower was a bonus. I decided to eat here as well and it was the correct choice, for...a Wednesday evening it was very busy but I was accommodated quickly and the service was excellent. Good selection on the menu and I enjoyed every bite. Breakfast was the same, a good hearty Irish breakfast with tea and toast. I don't usually enjoy staying away for work but I will go out of my way to stay here again if I require a bed for the night.More

I stayed here with my Mom & daughter for an overnight trip to Kildare Village outlets. From the moment I called, first to say we'd be late checking in and second to change our dinner reservation the staff were so lovely. The room was huge...& the decor absolutely beautiful. Beds were so comfy. Dinner was delcious as was breakfast. Staff were all so pleasant & friendly. I could not find any fault whatsoever. Can't wait to stay again!More

After reading reviews on Tripadvisor and the fact that the Silken Thomas was 3rd in the top ten places to eat. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. My husband and I both had the roast beef dinner. Roast beef was way...over cooked and tough. I ordered the meringue for dessert and unfortunately again the meringue was brown and overcooked too. On the other hand presentation of the food & the service was excellent..More
