Five adults and two children. We went on Saturday 27th April. Every time we come to Umbria from the Veneto region, no one takes away at least one typical evening. There is always the desire to see Paolo and his wife again, 100% exquisitely Umbrian people with an enviable professionalism in their work. Meanwhile you feel at home. No one to rush you or pressure you. They explain the origins of all the products and guide you to the best choice. Even when you have doubts about what to choose, get an advisor, you will be surprised. Quality products, zero km. The price is far too fair given the high quality of what is served at the table. There aren't many places so booking is essential if you want to find a free place to eat. Go there, eat and you'll see.

I returned to Montone for the Festa del Bosco and also to my favorite restaurant: a typical Osteria. Despite there being a very limited menu due to the festival, I had delicious dishes: Chianina Carpaccio and lamb, in particular. The owner, who recognized us, also offered us a great glass of Umbrian prosecco. Thank you.

We were in Montone (a village we fell in love with) for three consecutive evenings and had dinner in this place twice.
Truly fantastic location within the village, great professionalism of the staff and dishes notable for the quality of the raw materials and preparation.
Polenta with liver and truffle pâté and lamb above all.
Just a note on the first evening's ravioli which was slightly undercooked at the joints but was excellent. Nonsense to nitpick...
The desserts are good (in the "chocolate and milk bread" I would have put the bread underneath and not on top for reasons of consistency and cut...but that's my opinion...this too is a subtlety...)... A highly recommended place. .high quality..

We have lived in this region for over twelve years, and of the six restaurants in Montone, this was the only one we had not had an evening meal at. Nice location but things started poorly when my glass of Prosecco, at €10, went in two sips. Both the Pasta courses were nice but our mains were very poor. My wife’s Wild Boar was dry and tough, my “Rack of Lamb” was just two small cutlets, and the “seasonal vegetables” consisted of two skinny/small carrots and two pieces of raw celery! I mentioned this to the waiter who just shrugged his shoulders and left! This was a disappointing and expensive experience!

Dear Sir,
I'm sorry but in our restaurant we don't serve prosecco, but the bollicina you drank was a hight quality classic method (and it's not the same thing).
The lamb you ordered was not a classic "scottadito " but it was a lamb fillet served with its cooking juices combined with buttered carrots and some celery stuffed with creamed potatoes cooked under ashes and orange powder. I'm sorry that the wild boar was not to your lady's liking but honestly it's the first time I've read such a bad judgment because this is a very traditional dish that we have been making for ten years. I don't want to talk about the quantity of the portions because I would fall into an inelegant discourse. In any case, the menu has the prices displayed which I assume you have read, I tell you this because I think the reason for writing such a bad review is only to blame for the price you paid .Also, I passed by your table several times to find out if our dishes were to your liking and nothing was said to me . Anyway I am sorry that the quantity of our dishes did not meet your taste but I am here to wish you the best .

“Here we eat for pleasure and not for need.” The sign outside is a good sign, confirmed by the culinary experience, always at the top and by the always attentive and friendly service. We return after some time and the menu presents truly delicious dishes, beautiful to look at and good to eat. Poached egg (a dish called “tramonto sul trasimeno” see the attached photo to understand why) and lamb were my two choices. Very spot on. Well done. We'll see you again soon to taste the autumn menu

Reccomended by our farmhouse, we visited this "osteria tipica" in the heart of Montone, a truly beautiful little town. They seated us a lovely outdoor table in a corner, overlooking the main square. We had two local appetizers, "carpaccio" and poached egg (called "sunset on Trasimeno", if you try it, you'll understand why), and two main courses, lamb and rabbit "in porchetta" style. all expertly prepared. The local wine was reccomended to us by the owner - a "ciliegiolo" to remember. An excellent experience. We hope to return soon!

High quality dishes in a very suggestive environment in the historic center of the village of Montone. The tomato soup meatballs are a joy for the palate, so much so that we have tried them twice. Very varied and refined choice of wines. Impeccable service. Prices in line with the quality of the products and workmanship. Well done!

I went to Tipico di Montone after a few years. Traditional Umbrian cuisine revisited in a gourmet way intrigued me a lot and I really appreciated the particularity of the dishes and presentations. Informal but refined atmosphere. Well done!!!

A very appropriate name for this restaurant which offers not only traditional dishes but also an interesting gourmet reinterpretation of traditional dishes. The tomato soup meatballs are delicious. The pigeon is amazing. Closing with high-level Umbrian cheeses. Highly recommended.

I returned with a friend for dinner after some time. Everything lived up to expectations. Raw materials at 0 km, curated wine list for all tastes (congratulations host), simple and refined cuisine at the same time, top marks. What can I say, we will be back again! Well done

Il Tipico, as always, offers us its hospitality. Super dishes and hospitality, worth mentioning is the well-stocked list of oils, superbly described by the innkeeper Paolo. Highly recommended, in a wonderful setting like that of Montone.

Friendly service, good italian food and reasonable prices. Inside and outside (on the nice Montone square) dining in a nice atmosphere. Recommend to book a table, we were lucky to get one without a reservation.

Our friend is a summer resident in Umbria and recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. There were two areas where you could eat inside or outside in a courtyard around the corner. The dinner started with bread and and olive oil tasting. The chianina carpaccio was fantastic as a starter. The menu notes that everything is local and from the Umbria area including the wine. We were pleased with the main courses including one with shaved fresh truffles. I don't believe you can make a wrong choice with this menu. If I come back to the area, I will definitely come here. Highly recommended.
