Was on holiday so thought we would try this place for a curry and wasn’t disappointed from the minute we arrived we were looked after my had a starter of crabmeat in spices and I had the salmon tikka which was awesome the mains were...very good too, as we were there for 10 days we decided to book again for following Saturday which was brilliant too. The staff on both occasions was extremely helpful.More
We have been customers of Lal Qila for 40 years and they have never failed to provide a tasty meal with excellent service. We are vegetarian and often ask the staff to recommend dishes for us. The title of the review says it all.
So I never actually managed to get a meal, just laughed at. According to google maps I am 10 minutes away from this restaurant so called up to ask if they could deliver to my address and was laughed at and told “no, that’s a...bit too far for us” sarcastically. I’m not sure if they were mistaken as to where I actually live but I was really upset and embarrassed at being laughed at whether this was the case or not. Also quite disappointed that this could have been a nice meal and a new local takeaway.More
Maybe I am being harsh by saying average!
But if your looking for value for money this is not for you, the food is very nice of that there is no question but it is expensive in comparison to other places.
Staff friendly enough and...efficient for sure and the place is very Covid safe.
I had as a main Tandoori Garlic King Prawns which were very tasty but at £18 for just 4 with fried onion and salad it is not cheap.
Worth a visit if price does not bother youMore
Was recommended this place by this tool I work with and to be fair it wasn't a bad call, although it was a little bit pricey nearly 20 large for some of the king prawn dishes!. It was fairly quite on the night with only...one or two tables taken although one table were rather rowdy which included the bolsover bullet, but this didn't put us off. Give the starters a miss and went for the pomps and pickles which were very pleasing on the pallet. Tried the chicken shashlik and bombay potatoes which were very nice. One of the lads had tried a bit of zero zero before the food so was slightly peckish needless to say he over ordered and couldn't finish his vegetable pathia, keema pilau rice, spicy chips peshwari naan, brinjal bhaji! Coco and the pope had chicken bhuna and chicken rogan respectively both reported no problem with them at all....Harvey had his normal chicken kurma which was extremely sweet you couldn't eat a full bowl of it I wouldn't have thought, Harvey made sharp work of it though, but had most of his down his bib. Lads had a few bottles of cobra and the bill came to £120 which wasn't to bad(if you keep away from the prawn). All in all a nice place and the food was good, restaurant was very clean which was more than can be said for Harveys chin!More
The staff here fitted us in last minuet despite being very busy due to eat out to help out , this was after we were so badly let down by Porkies at Bebside.
The staff were all COVID-19 aware and did an amazing job making...you feel safe , the food was fresh , hot and tasty so of a very high standard.
The service was fast and efficient so if you are looking for a sit down Indian meal I would highly recommend this restaurantMore
