We popped in for a bite to eat, we found a nice quiet table and settled with a spaniel for company, lovely wee dog. The menu looked a bit pricey for lunch but we went for it anyway hoping for the best. We ordered the gammon, Cajun chicken and Cumberland sausage. All three were massive portions, really fresh and well... More

We visit here quite often. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and super food. Apparently the beer is wonderful. Can state the wine is very good. IMO well worth a visit

We have visited this pub several times over the last few years both for lunch and evening meals and always found it a really nice place to eat. The welcome is friendly, the atmosphere is genuine "olde worlde" pub, the food is good honest pub grub, tasty and excellent value. The beers are good too.

This is a lovely pub with great friendly staff but the lunch left a lot to be desired, my husband had lamb which he enjoyed, I had the steak and ale pie which was huge but the pastry was very undercooked and soggy. The biggest disappointment was frozen roast and new potatoes, I wouldn't use them at home and certainly... More

Called in early evening and found a nice selection of beers. The food we ordered was tasty and good value (lots of chips)

I have had food at this pub several time in the past and was always great food. On the last two occasions, however, the food was terrible. I went a couple of months ago and my wife had lasagne or what was supposed to be lasagne. It was in fact unseasoned mince meat with pasta sheets, no sauce, cheese or... More

I got talking to an even older bloke on a bus from Selby, who said the beer here was good, so I got off with him at the stop just outside the Inn and followed him in. So glad I did. Every beer I had was great, and the pickled egg was one of the best. Really good, friendly, atmosphere,... More

We have enjoyed a couple of Sunday afternoons here. The pub has excellent selection of real ale and the atmosphere and local air history of the pub is great. The staff are friendly and welcoming

Have visited here numerous times over the past couple of years and each time the food has been lovely. We visit in the evening and it's usually busy so we always book as once or twice we couldn't get in. Small friendly pub with great food. Always a good plate full, highly recommend this pub, the best for food in... More

Had a lovely mid-day meal here recently. Although there was a large party in with their own buffet we were looked after very well. Ordered the smaller portion of Spag bol and my friend had scampi and the trimmings but they were both very good portions. (Dread to think how large the regular meals are). Mine was served with beautiful... More
