Very cold, service exceedingly slow. Food was nothing special. That's about all be said, there are far better fish and chip restaurants offering better food, comfort and service . Exceedingly disappointed

Service was slightly disappointing. Because the chip shop is adjacent I just assumed my meal would arrive quickly. When it didn't I quietly asked the staff member why there was a delay, and was told it was because my salad was being made up. My...meal was then delivered by an abrupt sounding staff member from the chip shop. I was then ignored. Food was very good. Just spoiled by my query.More
Super-fresh fish, really good quality fish and chips. Enjoyed it so much I went back the day after!
Very nice vegan 'fish' but the chips, if that's what they were, were dire, flabby and tasted as if they both hadn't been properly cooked and had been reheated. They were also a weird shape. I ate them out of hunger only. I had been...delighted to find somewhere that did vegan 'fish' but shan't be going again.More
Best fish and chips around we come all the way from Leeds . Always enjoy my scampi hubby loves the fish the batter is really nice and crispy . Staff polite and always friendly makes our day thankyou
Great spot in Selby for a family friendly atmosphere and lovely food. Took my young ones for a Friday treat and not only was the food delicious and service prompt, but we were made very welcome in spite it being a busy Friday and having...young children, which might make some places grimace. 10/10- will definitely go again!More
Took my grandchildren out for tea, our arrival was warm and friendly, despite them being busy. Found us a table and a high chair - had time to peruse the menu and the waitress who took our order was helpful with suggestions re the children....The food that came despite them being busy quite quickly and was hot and clearly freshly cooked, I had no issue with portion sizes and feel I got what I ordered and that it was good value, we will definitely be back! Thank you Mr C’sMore
Been going for 20 years using both take away and eat in,over the years the quality as always been excellent but in recent visits the quantity and quality as been very poor,
From the moment I walked in I thought this isn't going to be positive. A smell of urine was the first thing, then the tables that's weren't 100% clean was also off putting. But as we wanted fish and chips stayed and hoped the food...would resurrect the negatives. Unfortunately it just got worse we both ordered the large fish and chips. But when they came it was more a small or medium, after asking the waitress we ordered the large she replied I'll charge you for a medium. They must of known it was a medium but were just trying it on. The coffee I ordered was like dishwasher and definitely not the brand that was advertised. In these trying time a bussiness should be trying hard to make customers happy and welcome. We will never go back.More
Not the best place anymore asked for a large fish and got a normal size and my partners fish and chips was tiny
We visit here often and this visit was a huge disappointment. I always ask for a well done fish. This is never a problem elsewhere, however here is seems as if I’m speaking a different language. It rarely comes well done and it’s usually the...same as the other fish we order. Also, despite prices increasing, the size of the fish is shrinking. The fish looked like a child’s portion. The staff in the restaurant lack professionalism and it seems to be run on an ad hoc basis. Most strange was of running a business.More
Always enjoy a fish & chips with the Irish curry, delicious every time! Friendly staff and always piping hot food.
Ordered fish and chips sat afternoon. Food was nicely cooked but the size of the fish very poor. Should have took them back to complain. Looked like it was an off cut that had been chucked to the back of the warmer😮 Not what I...expected after paying £8More
Go every week for a fish & chips and always good! Always red hot and the Irish curry is the best. Friendly staff.
We had Fish and Chips and mushy peas in Mr C's restaurant on Saturday 30th July. Living in Shropshire where they cannot cook Fish and Chips it is always our treat to have them, my/our favourite meal, whenever we are in Yorkshire. Yorkshire Fish and...Chips are always good, but the ones we had at Mr C's were way ahead of any we've had before. So good that we had to go back on Sunday night for some more. The fish was superb and although chips are chips, the chips were especially delicious as were the mushy peas. I love Yorkshire Fish and Chips but have never been so bowled over I felt I had to write a review. Special request, please would you open a shop in the Midlands!!More
