Great value roasts only let down by being warm rather than hot. Very busy but rightly so. Will return. Could do with taking a table or two out of the restaurant to ease the noise but on the whole a good experience.More

If you are a foodie you’ll love the tasting menu, if yah are not you will still love it. Seven well presented courses paired with three wines over a two and a half hour sitting well worth the money. It’s a chance to try lots...of dishes and tickle taste buds. October was an autumn tasting menu with delights such as trio of canapés, parsnip veloute, scallops, beef cheeks, goats cheese and chocolate. The stars of the show were most definitely for us the scallops and the beef cheeks. The atmosphere was buzzing (sometimes a little loud) but as the courses were served we were able to feast of the delights from the kitchen with hushed tones falling as diners tucked in. A round of applause to the chef, the kitchen crew and the front of house crew the evening ran seamlessly. We are looking forward to our next foodie adventure with at this venue and would thoroughly recommend it fellow dinners. If this inspires you to visit you don’t have to wait for another tasting menu evening, their regular menu is superb and Sunday lunch absolutely delicious.More

We were treated for the 7 course tasting menu for our anniversary. Such a good experience. tasty different dishes all pared with relevant wines. So upset that they usually hold them on Thursdays which I cannot attend as they have different themes each month.

We had not been here before. WOW! There were 5 of us, including 5 year old grandson. We were treated like royalty. Staff very friendly and attentive. Our grandson was given coloured pencils and a large puzzle/colouring sheet, it also had kids menu on. He...was happy!! A bottle of cold water was brought to the table. Nice touch. There were 'real' napkins, not tissue!! The food was excellent, the fish melted in the mouth. Triple cooked chips were immense. The brie for started was mmmmmmm. We had katsu curry, D-I-L was in heaven. The onion rings were to die for! Brownie sundae finished off nicely even though I felt full from the main, I had to try it. Grandson had nuggets and skinny fies followed by pick n mix ice cream with smarties and jelly babies in it. So taken by the service, staff and food we've booked to have our sons 40th birthday dinner there. 100% recommendation. Thank you so much xMore

I took my mum and dad to The George for the tasting menu and was blown away! The tasting menu included 7 courses with 3 tasting wines matched to specific courses. We were told that the fresh ingredients were all sourced locally and the quality...and freshness were evident in every course. On the night we attended it was fully booked out which created a great atmosphere with everyone clearly enjoying excellent cuisine. The portion sizes were commensurate for a tasting menu and each were well presented providing a feast for the eyes and an urgency to indulge. Finally, the taste and flavour of every course was never disappointing; even the sorbet (described as a palate cleanser) was a delight and inspired. I got the impression that the choice of matched wines were experimental and ambitious with a variety of shared opinions, but this didn’t detract from what was an excellent degustation. The cost per head was very reasonable and you would do well to find better value anywhere. Compliments to the chef and to the management and staff generally for a delightful experience.More

Wonderful 7 course tasting menu. From the point of entering the venue and being greeted by a team of enthusiastic staff members we knew we were in for a good evening. The food was delicious and beautifully presented along with some well paired wines. The...staff were all exceptional throughout in serving a fully booked restaurant as were the bar team.
