OK.. Firstly, why bother, because you must, it will change your life!! ;-)… Think local ‘bistrotheque’, gone ‘off the charts’ good… Seasonal, local produce prepped with outrageous creative flair (amuse-bouche); followed by a hanging, flaming griddle of three meats (beef, venison and lamb), and a killer pudding for desert.. Alex (host in the hat) stops by and really cares… Lastly,... More

Myself and 5 friends ate here tonight. I am vegan (eating no animal products). We spoke to the chef a day in advance and he agreed to cook a vegan meal for me, although it was difficult for him to think of what he could cook without butter and cheese. We went along tonight not knowing what to expect- It... More

This restaurant is superb. If you like meat especially. The restaurant speciality is the most perfectly cooked cuts of beef, venison or lamb hung on a steel hook over a bowl of rice and delicious dipping sauces. The meat drips delicious flavours into the bowl of rice below, the whole set of combinations just brilliant. The chef is a meat... More

Took 15 mins to walk from central Nendaz by the telecabine but worth it. Fantastic meal with superb and friendly service. You must try the local dish of 3 meats flamed at the table but can I suggest that you don't eat the bread beforehand as the meal is very filling. Dessert finished everything off with a large liqueur. Definitely... More

La Lanterne is one of the best restaurants in Haute Nendaz, if not the best. Alex, the host is a very friendly person from the region, who really knows what good doos is about. He is an excellent chef and host, who knows who to make you feel comfortable in hos restaurant. The menu is simple, not a lot of... More

We read the great reviews and booked ourselves in as a group of 8 and we will be back again for sure! The night started great with the host bringing our various little starters and then moved into overdrive when it came to the mains. We had the 3 meats "potence" which was amazing! On what looks like a medieval... More

A good 10-15 min walk from center of Nendaz and easy to find. We booked an early time table and had a nice welcoming service. Food was very good, service started very well but then deteriorated as suddenly became very busy and stuff was avoiding eye contact. Would I go back there? -No, I would try another place out.

Slightly quirky but fantastic restaurant would highly recommend a visit or 2. Ask for The absinthe. Probably best to book. The quality of the meat is exceptional and puddings not bad either.

Since our last visit, the restaurant has undergone a complete transformation but it hasn't diluted the appeal and atmosphere of this amazing place. Alex the owner is always on hand and we were made to feel very welcome. They have recently expanded the menu, so its possible to choose from a wider variety of dishes and not just what Alex... More
