If ever there is a restaurant that gives you that homely feeling, then it has to be El Gaucho. Albert, the owner is always there to great you with a smile and invite you to browse through his most extensive list of Spanish and French wines, ranging from a few euros to a few hundred euros per bottle, my favourite... As you would expect from this type of restaurant the food is cooked over a grill adding flavour, the black pudding starter is excellent, only one downside, the fries are skinny (not my favourite) but my wife enjoyed them

There must be a reason why the restaurant is only open in summer time. Known for Argentinian steaks. Cozy inside garden/patio.

We went here twice in A week a good variety of food choice and Hugh steaks if that's what you like A lot of the food was prepared on a open barbecue grill in the middle of the restaurant , we tried the salmon, the roast chicken, hamburger and liver and all was excellent Service was great too on both... This is a steak restaurant and it does them very well over a proper fire. You have a hot plate on your table too to cook more if desired. The Malbec wine is also very very good. It is easy to find near the shops but is not cheap.

We visited El Gaucho earlier this year. We were thoroughly enjoying our evening, but after while we realised that the music ( the same song) was being repeated over and over and after a while it started to drive us crazy ! We asked about it and apparently it was a favourite. Whilst we couldn't fault the food or the... More

We've been to Gaucho twice in the last couple of months and both times we've enjoyed our meals. The steak has been good quality (on a par with other more expensive local places). This is a steak place though - not a vast menu if in a group and not all fancy steak. Will return again in future.

Excellent steak (we had fillet and baby rib eye), great sides and puddings. Fillet cooked medium rare as requested and rib eye rare. Tender and tasty. Lovely setting in the courtyard. A few little flies by buzzed around but nothing you wouldn't expect when eating outside - the courtyard I suppose has less air circulating than other venues hence you'd... More

I used to go here as a child have returned after 20 years and still the best steak and sides in Sotogrande. I have also been to cancha 11, la Quinta not as good or well priced. Fillet steak baked potatoes and garlic source to die for. Will be back soon.
