Welcome to Villa Toledo Restaurant, We invite you to join us in this exclusive space for a unique setting and a warm and privileged climate. We are committed to quality and fresh produce offered by our wonderful island of Lanzarote, as well as wines with denomination of origin Lanzarote. Villa Toledo is named after the first house built in Costa Teguise for the Toledo family who owned the old sea salt mines, today it's known as "Urbanizacion Playa Bastian." Having been converted into what, it's probably the best-located restaurant on the island and it continues to use the name of the old house, at the explicit wish of the current owners. The Villa Toledo Restaurant opened its doors on 03.03.03 a decidedly memorable date. Since then, our goal has been the same: "You will always remember your visit."

Beautiful gem of a place

Spotted this lovely place whilst out cycling one day. Decided to visit on our way back. So glad we did, food was spot on, drinks lush, the view over the ocean is stunning. Staff very friendly, I could have sat there all day. Will definitely call again next time we’re on the island

Well, hello there again.....I maybe late reviewing this but it is not forgotten to praise you. We visited your place again in October 2019.(22nd, 27th and 28th) We had previously visited in May 2019 (trip advisor review of mine dated 6th June 2019) Ramon B Director of Villa Toledo kindly replied to my review ...'We hope to be part of your holiday memories for many years to come. Look forward to seeing you in October.' (2019) Well, we said we would be back and we were. We had a fabulous two week holiday in Costa Teguise and we visited Villa Toledo three times. We had a few drinks on the first time, just Hubby and myself after a lovely walk along the promenade. Then the second time this October holiday, we introduced our family members to the Villa Toledo (they were staying in Playa Blanca) and told them that it was our favourite place in Lanzarote to have a drink. We all sat admiring the sea view, watching the sun down, chilling with cool drinks. I'm sure if they visit Costa Teguise then they will be visiting again themselves to Villa Toledo. On our last day we had checked out of our apartments nearby (28/10/19) and after a browse around the shops and a breath of fresh air on the prom, we made our way to Villa Toledo for our traditional snack before departing for the airport and the journey home to England. Hubby had the Chicken sandwich and chips (4 euros) and I had the mixed Sandwich (ham & cheese for 3 euros) We washed it down with two cool long drinks and two house white wines (under 3 euros each) The whole bill was under twenty euros. Value for money. The wine is lovely and a favourite of ours to order while we embrace the ambience and views. The service is quick and efficient. Service with a smile and the staff are friendly and welcoming as ever. Great views, wonderful service and superb food and drink at good realistic prices makes this place a winning combination. Well done again Villa Toledo. Once again you certainly are part of our holiday memories. Looking forward to holidaying in Costa Teguise again sometime soon and you can guess where we will be heading for.....Yes, Villa Toledo.

Lovely location with good views

We had lunch in the cafe which was very good. A few days later, seven of us for lunch in the smart restaurant below. The food was good but the waiter was quite rude to the children and bad tempered which put a sour note on our meal which was not cheap.

Although the restaurant looks great, especially its view over the ocean, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It is possibly the most unfriendly restaurant I have ever been last 10 years.....at least in Spain or even in Europe. It is unfair to rate a restaurant without trying its food, but it would not have been tasty under this circumstances. We tried to reserve a table online (no reply at all) and later on the phone. The restaurant staff could not speak good English but we repeated reservation details at least three times. Despite online and telephone reservation, they did not note anything, when we got there. The worst thing was the attitude and manner of the staff. He insisted we have never reserved and just jumped into the restaurant. He reluctantly gave us a table with his uncomfortable way, so we decided to leave to avoid any further unpleasant experiences. They’re clearly not keen neither taking reservations nor serving customers. So if you look for a pleasant evening, better to avoid this restaurant.

Wonderful restaurant, incredible fillet steak!

I took my mother to Villa Toledo for a special dinner last night. We had the most wonderful meal, the waiter was very friendly and the food was just delicious and reasonably priced. Excellent quality, we are the Toledo salad which was beautifully presented, followed by fillet steak - both cooked exactly as we'd requested. A reduced menu at the moment due to covid, but I couldn't recommend this place more! I want to go back for lunch to enjoy the spectacular view!

We said our wedding vows on Playa Bastian beach in Nov 2019 & as it was just the two of us we wanted somewhere that we could have a lovely meal afterwards in beautiful surroundings with a view of the sunset. Our wedding celebrant suggested Villa Toledo & it couldn't have been any more perfect! The staff were absolutely fantastic, even though it was just the two of us they were happy for our wedding photographer to use the venue to take some pictures of us there, we had drinks on the terrace beforehand & they had reserved us a great table with an amazing view ready for the sunset. They really did make us feel very special. The food was amazing, I had the Cod Marinera & my Husband had the grilled salmon supreme along with 2 beautiful bottles of wine to compliment the dishes. We both had the Fig ice cream with crispy almond thin for dessert. It was beautiful. The staff were brilliant & I can't thank them enough. Thank you again Villa Toledo for making our perfect day so special x

We have visited this restaurant on and off for 17 years and always been disappointed with the service and food. We decided to try again today because the location is just wonderful. The waiter had no idea about wine and the wine choice is very limited. The starters port balls and veg croquets were tasteless and the fish of the day from La Graciosa very average. We were not even offered a liquor when paying the bill. This restaurant could be the top place to eat if the chef was good, the waiters more helpful and knowledgeable and the menu more high class

Just to inform you, our wine menu has a selection of the most representative wines, but maybe they are not enough for you. Our team periodically receives courses in wine tasting, especially the waiter one that attended you. After more than 15 years working with us, we can guarantee that he knows about wines. Style over substance

We pre booked months in advance for our final night as a special dinner to celebrate a great holiday. When we arrived, we were blown away by the setting- right on the see front, next to a little beach- it was beautiful. We booked a table for 6pm and turned up 5 minutes before. We arrived and were told that the chef hadn’t turned up so to sit at the bar until 6 as another chef is coming in. We initially didn’t mind as the setting was beautiful but we’re told that it was table service only, however was only served and checked up on once. The cocktail was strawberry dawn and it was so refreshing, although I couldn’t taste any alcohol. We were right next to the bar and ignored but people next to us had at least 3 drinks in this time. It got to about 7:20 and we went down to check on our table to be told still no chef but we could sit at our table. We were told just another ten minutes but we didn’t end up having orders taken until around 8:10/8:20. People at this point had already walked out with their drinks being free for their trouble. Within ten minutes of the chef turning up, our food came out, which was a little worrying considering we had steak/fish and chips. The chips came out and we’re barely cooked/almost white. We asked for steak medium rare in rosemary and it came in mustard and very rare/ blue. By this point we had to make do as we had an 11 year old with us and she needed feeding. We did have a lovely bottle of wine with dinner which was great. The atmosphere was terrible, no music and it was so silent. We were not thanked/apologised to when leaving about the 2 hr 30 minute delay in receiving food and no sort of reduction of price. We paid £77 for food which was not up to scratch. The pool which is next to the balcony you look over when looking out to sea is also filthy so that could do with a clean. I think consideration to contact guests before turning up to let them know that there’s no chef, the treating them like their welcome when they do turn up would be better. Our visits was definitely style over substance which is such a shame as I’m a massive foodie as was really looking forward to this meal.

The setting is arguably the best in Costa Teguise especially if you’re blessed with stunning sunset skies. The food is plentiful and delicious…we had the Grilled Octopus & Pork Meatball starters followed by the Mixed Seafood & Lobster Paella to share. More than enough for the 4 of us ! The downside : we arrived early and sat on the mid-terrace for sun-downer drinks. We waited some little while before our order was taken either because staff at the top terrace bar or staff in the main restaurant don’t see you, I’m not sure whose responsibility it is ?? Once in the restaurant (great table overlooking the sea), we had to ask for a wine list. Once it arrived and initially poured, we had to top up ourselves. We ordered another bottle while eating our main course but, as it hadn’t arrived by the time we’d finished, we cancelled it ! At 10.15pm, the staff seemed more concerned with re-laying table linen, cutlery & glasses. It even took us a while to catch an eye to request the bill !! With some attention to detail……..closer attention to your diners, this could have been a 5* review.

Good view but service and food could be better

After having a success with a number of retaurants in Costa Teguise we were looking forward to our evening meal here. The location right on the sea front is excellent. The restaurant is built half into the cliff so is interesting inside and the sides of the restaurant are generally open so the views of the ocean are wonderful. The food offered on the menu is ok but not to the same high standard as some of the other restaurants in Costa Teguise. The service was poor; we asked for sparkiling water and it came as still, the waiter gave my wife a bread roll and then rushed off before he gave one to me - five minutes later I had to ask for a bread roll. My wife had asked for her steak to be well done and it arrived visibly pink on the outside - it looked and apparently tasted like a UK chain pub offering. On a plus point the desserts were delicious. Talking to people about our experience it appears that it is hit and miss at this restaurant so perhaps we were just unlucky but at 50 Euros per head including wine I expect better. They have the view and location. If they can sort the food and the service then this would be a winner.

The location of this restaurant is perfect and it should be one of the best restaurants in the resort. However we were disappointed. On arriving we were met by an uninterested waiter who, rather than greet us, focussed on his iPad and after a couple of minutes showed us to our table. Clearly he had other things on his mind! The starters were very good, the tuna was delicious and the meatballs were very tasty. The main disappointment was the main course. We all ordered steaks but when they arrived they were all nearly raw, appreciate some people like them like that, but we had all ordered them medium. The side of vegetables looked like they had been boiled for a week. The waiter (the friendly one no the iPad one) took them back and had them cooked more, although my wife’s came back almost looking the same. Underwhelming and over priced in our opinion, plenty of other quality restaurants in the resort to check out!

Extremely poor service. We were out for a walk and decided to nip in for a coffee. Waitress said hello and we sat at a table. There was a waiter walking about and kept ignoring us when we tried to order. Waitress was busy waiting on customers at the back. After 20 minutes of not even been given a menu we decided to walk out without ordering as the waiter was serving people who had came in after us. As we walked past waiter he said,"thank you". I replied why are you thanking us? You never served us.

Fantastic Views!

Fantastic views but I'm sorry to say they are the only things to praise here. We've been coming here for many years because of the location, and have often been disappointed with the food and service. But we keep returning in the hope of improvement! This time was no different though and because we'd chosen to come at 8pm we couldn't even really get to enjoy the views! The food and service were again disappointing. My son and I had paella, which was just plonked on the table - no attempt was made to serve it, which I would expect in a restaurant at this level and price point. It was average at best. My husband had fish which was only ok. Service overall was slow and not friendly or welcoming. Starters and dessert were again only ok. I expect we will return, but not for dinner. Breakfast and lunch seem to be their strong point, and at least you then get to enjoy the views if they let you down with the food!

Exceptionally rude service and crap food, look at the negative reviews there lies the truth

I have been coming to the island for last 20 +years and we haven’t tried Villa Toledo for many years. If I could put it as a minus I would, shockingly disgraceful service from one waiter in particular who was aggressive and rude manner from the moment we walked in, I wouldn’t want to knock any restaurant in the current climate but this has to be an exception its beyond terrible service and food, do not spend you hard earned cash here, worst steak I ever had exceptionally bad quality and overcooked, when I politely pointed this out to the waiter my steak was over cooked, no apology just removed my plate, come back later saying cook you another one nobody else complained !! (And allowing smoking on the terrace and under the canopy restaurant when I believe during Covid there should be designated areas for smoking). He was aggressive and argumentative shouting at us on the way out, unnecessary behaviour. Look at the negative comments there lies they truth.

Buenos días, ante todo pedirles disculpas, por lo que creemos que fue, un malentendido por falta de entendimiento. Tras preguntar al preguntar al personal que trabajó en ese momento, sala y cocina, es verdad que uno de los platos fue retirado de la mesa. Protocolo : cuando se retira un plato de una mesa, el cual está mal, por criterio de un cliente, la Empresa autoriza, a que el cliente pueda pedir el mismo plato cocinado diferente, o a que pida cualquier otro plato de la carta. Se intentó solucionar el problema , pero no quisieron, ya el daño estaba hecho, y no atendieron a soluciones. Como ayudar a quien no quiere ser ayudado . No pretendemos justificar los fallos, somos personas como todos, lo único que podemos hacer cuando hay un error, es intentar solucionarlo. Cuando nos pasa esto, que por desgracia no es la primera vez, y seguramente no sea la última. No sabemos como actuar, pues algunos clientes se lo toman como algo personal, y realmente quedan ofendidos. Nuestro propósito, es que vengan,disfruten y repitan, para nada queremos crear ningún tipo de malestar, pues vivimos de esto, y tenemos a todo un equipo de profesionales, trabajando en ello día a día. Lo que si que no le vamos a permitir, es que nos difame por un mal entendido, nos defenderemos y le aclararemos algunos puntos. 1 : Comida Basura. No entendemos que nadie, pueda hacer esta comparación, realmente de muy mal gusto , términos inadecuados para referirse a alimentos, muestra mucho despropósito ético. 2 : Veinte años en Lanzarote. Nos ha visitado en diferentes ocasiones,y un día algo sale mal, y somos lo peor de lo peor ??? Si nos había visitado en diferentes ocasiones sería porque, ni la cocina ni el servicio, serian tan malos como en esta crítica describe. 3 : Fuman en algunas mesas. Se cumplen extríctamente las normativas Covid, incluso, superamos las distancias reglamentarias entre mesas, teniendo zona de fumadores, apartada de la zona de no fumadores. que a usted le parezca mal o no, es quejarse sin ningún fundamento. 4 : Resolución. Claramente esta crítica esta está basada en rabia causada por un malentendido.Totalmente desproporcionada, buscando hacer daño mediáticamente. A las alusiones de que el camarero los despidió con gritos, es totalmente falso. Soy el camarero que les puse los platos... y estuve presente cuando se fueron. Cuando se fueron le dijeron a mi compañero, BAD SERVICE, tras él haber intentado solucionar el problema. Lo que expreso en alto fue " NO ME LO PUEDO CREER ", que esos son los supuestos gritos a los que hacen mención. Por favor respiren y cuenten hasta diez, pues la intolerancia y la rabia nunca son buenas consejeras.

We booked here whilst passing earlier in our stay to visit friends in Playa Bastian - us staying in Costa Teguise. We booked for the views, it looked amazing for our final night. On arrival to our booking we noticed immediately how quiet it was with a sheer lack of local business - a big no, no for me usually but we had booked and we saw it through. Contrary to previous reviews, the service was good and staff were friendly, the views were lovely too. My issue was the food, the pork meatballs as a starter were very rare and were battered and simply flavourless for me and were served on what only can be explained as vomit. We had a shared main of a fish platter which sounded delightful when offered to us but a huge disappointment on arrival. It was very under cooked fish with over cooked octopus which was all just dry and tasteless. The Canadian potatoes were rock solid too and it was all just wrong. When our plates were given to us we had an extra one provided for ‘shells’ and not a single shell fish was on the plate. All in all, I would not visit again when there is so much better choice for the area. Drinks with a view would be a great choice but in my opinion, avoid the food.
