Popped in for a couple of pints one evening as friends live just a few minutes away and I was staying with them for a couple of nights. Excellent couple of pints of ale whilst chatting to the friendly landlord about horse racing. Great food...menu and the food is wonderful. Definitely worth a visit.More

We visited on Mothers day, very efficient even when they were busy. Food was excellent I had the beef roast and my daughter had the pork both were very good! So much meat and really good quality meat. For dessert I had the pecan pie...with orange absolutely outstanding! Best dessert I’ve had for ages and nice to have something different on the menu. Overall a great place to visit.More

We booked a table for ten people which was for our family to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. Our location in the conservatory was great. The food was amazing. I can’t single a dish out for praise as they were all terrific. The service was...brilliant. I cannot recommend this venue enough. They made this birthday celebration very special.More

With a friend down for her birthday we were looking for a traditional Sunday lunch in the Cotswolds - and we were drawn to book here. And that proved to be a great choice - the quality and cooking of the roast options was absolutely...spot on with beef, lamb and turkey all chosen by our party. The giant Yorkshire puddings were perfect when dipped in the rich, flavourful gravy. The roast potatoes and vegetable selection were very good too, especially the cheesy leeks. We skipped starters to afford room for puddings - the peach cobbler with a vanilla and nutmeg sauce was tremendous, the pecan tart and chocolate cheesecakes were also received extremely well. The staff are clearly invested in what they are doing, all of them a credit to the place. This is the sort of honest pub cooking with well-sourced ingredients that is increasingly rare. To be savoured.More

Read the reviews which were excellent so thought we would give it a try as we were in the area. Booked a table on the phone, staff very polite and were excellent when we arrived. Place was spotless, well decorated and you could see good...care was taken in this restaurant. Staff very attentive, friendly throughout. We ordered starters and mains, although seeing the size of mains being served o other diners I think a starter wasn't required. Both excellent starters, fresh, full of flavour. Belly pork was not as good as I expected, was a bit dry and the plate needed some sweetness to provide some balance to it. Sea bass was excellent, lots of prawns/mussels in the sauce however the potatoes were dry and a bit overcooked. There were a nice selection of desserts but 3 courses is too much in here. Overall it was good but a few tweaks to the mains would have made it a 5 rating. I would go back again if in the area, good value, excellent service and only a few minor things wouldn't put me or should put others off from going here.More

In an area overflowing with places to eat, this Gastropub is in a league of its own. Let me list its assets: lovely premises, lively ambience, warm welcome, a full restaurant but still first-class, friendly, service, delicious food beautifully presented. What a treat not to...be disappointed. We were beginning research for a birthday lunch but now need look no further! My husband had absolutely superb, tangy, squid (no rubbery “elastic bands” here) for starter, and first-rate lamb for mains. I had very tender beef, and the biggest Yorkshire pud I have ever seen - giant and I mean giant. Overly large for my personal taste as it dominated the look of the plate but, having said that, I did manage to eat it all! Vegetables were very good, although mange tout would never be top of my list with a Sunday roast - so a couple of less positive remarks there. However, the cheesy leeks were a triumph, and made such a refreshing change from cauliflower cheese. The gravy was perfect, and it was all so very tasty, and portions are generous. I had a divine chocolate cheesecake and ice cream to follow, and it was really beautifully presented. It, and the squid, were easily of Michelin-star quality. We eat out a lot and it was as good a Sunday lunch as we have had. It was excellent value, particularly for a meal of such a high standard. They certainly have a very special chef but all the staff were lovely.More

A very enjoyable experience all round. Very good service and excellent food. The food descriptions on the menu sounded mouthwatering and the actual food didn't disappoint. The vegetarian option was imaginative and tasty, not the usual bland offering. Will definitely be back.

The food here was excellent , we visited the inn for my friends birthday. There was a good variety of choice on the menu and the goats cheese starter with asparagus wrapped in bacon was delicious. We followed that up with the slow cooked shoulder...of lamb which was just as good. All our party enjoyed the food they had and the service was excellent.More

We visited the pub on New Years Day for lunch which was stunning. A very warm welcome and excellent service throughout, being very attentive and helpful. We skipped starters but our mains of Pork Belly (x2), Beef Pie and the Pigs In Blankets were all...superb. I had the Pork Belly which was absolutely delicious. One of us had dessert as the others were too full which again was excellent. Good selection of real ales and wines to complement the meal. Would certainly visit again.More
