A very pleasant dinner in a small but outstanding restaurant. As on our previous visits, we were served delicious food, swiftly and with a smile on this weekday evening where a handful of guests were scattered around the room. The menu doesn't feature dozens of choices, but as we noticed, changes with the seasons. Rather a good sign for a... More

Every course here was a taste sensation. My wife had the Main fish of the day, I had the Bretton saucisse with rice and our son had the child's menu. I can't believe how a simple saucisse and rice could taste sooooo good. Childs menu fish was a fillet you would expect in a top restaurant back home for a... More

Not only is the food excellent and the service first class, but the majority of the cooking occurs in the eating area. The chef is a tall, strongly built man, but his performance in the confined kitchen area is like watching a ballet, with lovely food as the outcome. The wine list is good too. Highly recommended and great value... More

Young chef with experience abroad providing freshly cooked ingredients at really great value prices. Lovely fish usually, most of the fare is produced by his hand. You should try the orange and chocolate desert. Around 13 euros for 3 courses for lunch, usually very busy and you will need to book in the summer. Good wine list too.

Ok, so now you live in France way in the boonies. You go to the Indian restaurant, the food is watered down. You go to the asian restaurant, the food is watered down. You go to the Japanese restaurant, and they put cilantro in your miso soup. And then you go to this random authentic french restaurant and decide to... More

We are not ashamed by returning to L'Ardoise for my birthday treat- especially as my wife paid!!! It fell on a Sunday in early September when most of the tourists have gone but booking is nevertheless recommended. We both had the 30 euro menu whilst our 5 yo daughter enjoyed moules frites and pudding. I started with delicious sea food... More

Here we are at the end of our cycle tour round Brittany and we're ready for a good nosh after a high speed 45k dash into St Pol de Leon ahead of a storm. After looking around at the local option we though L'Ardoise looked good so we popped in and booked a table. The very friendly chef/owner was there... More

Six of us (4 adults; 2 grandchildren) on our way to the ferry at Roscoff. We decided to try our luck in St Pol De Leon, having always previously by passed it. How lucky we were! It was early on a Saturday evening, and he was about to have an influx of pre booked diners, but he very kindly fitted... More

The Restaurant looked nice but the food was very poor. I had as a starter the smoked salmon just one slice and it was the thinnest piece I have ever seen. It had on it finely diced raw vegetables the kind you use as a stock base and a bit of salad. The main course was beef skewers which were... More

This is a great little restaurant, the chef is very helpful and gave us a great explanation of the menu and helped with the wine. The kids also had great food and really like the special ice-creams which took inspiration from chocolate bars like mars and twix etc. Overall I can highly recommend the place, book if you are going... New restaurant in town, since april 2011. The Chef uses fresh products and prepares the dishes in front of you. Serves french and local food with a touch of international cooking.
