Dinner on the first night of a French Cycling Holiday tour took us, along with nine others to the restaurant Terre & Mer. So begins the most unexpected and memorable gastronomical journey in memory. This place is seriously good. Unpretentious and warmly welcoming, this small family friendly restaurant sits conveniently enough beyond the tourist-proof fence to enjoy the seaside tranquility... This restaurant was an excellent find, best meal we have had in a very long time. Slightly unusual location, but away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist strip. Great service and superb menu, explained very well by the owner. Have the sangria as an aperitif, it is excellent, as good as it looks.

Lovely outdoor setting, not too large. Owner explains all dishes and is very attentive. 4 choices of entree, main and dessert. Mainly seafood but there was a steak option for mains. Food presented beautifully. Price reasonable and a very relaxing setting!

Fantastic food and wine accompanied by a really warm and enthusiastic welcome. What more can you ask. The owner's passion for his food is infectious and justified. Try the huîtres gratinee for the starter. I hate raw oysters but after trying a bit of someone else's dish was won over. A great meal. Thank you, we will be back.

The second time we've eaten here; the weather was not good so we had to sit inside and it's a very small inside. The menu was superb but simple, a choice of 4 entrees, 4 mains and 4 desserts and a cheese platter and you can have one, two or 3 courses. The wine is local and the food was... More

If you eat here on the terrace you'll have a great view of the marina. Our waitress was very very friendly and we made her chuckle with out antics. The tapas was delicious and so fresh.

The restaurant's proprietor was very friendly and chatty, it pains me to say that I did not enjoy his food too much. Gratinated oyster in cream and wine sauce packed little punch but was pleasant enough. The so-called fresh Mediterranean fish of the day, a fillet of dorade (gilt-head bream) was, on the other hand, extremely bland and came with... More

We visited this restaurant having been recommended. We wish we hadn't. Two of our party had to have toast when they got home. The wines were rough and like vinegar. The house speciality is a fish dish in a pie literally drenched in cream. The starter an egg dish turned out to be a posh version of boiled egg and... More

Terre et Mer made my shortlist of potential lunch spots for a daytrip in Sete. It's quite a hike from the train station, but worth every step. The staff was professional, yet friendly - taking time to translate menu items and even bring examples to the table for us to see. The specialty of the house is Montgolfier - a... More

Yes, I've eaten there before and yes I'm sure there are other great restaurants in Sete. But how can you beat this place. Absolutely outstanding. Four for lunch, €40 per head. The best oysters I've had (cooked with foie gras) followed by Mongolfier seafood. Lovely wine. Great staff.
