We brought an elderly relative for a birthday visit and stayed in Ormondroyd self-catering cottage. It was warm, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We loved the resident wildlife- peacocks, chickens, cats and Tess the dog. We also ate one evening in the hotel...where the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. I have rated 4 stars as our relative struggles with stairs so having a downstairs loo would have made her visit more manageable. We shall certainly return to this lovely hotel in its stunning location in the Lakes.More

From booking in with the delightfully helpful Holly to service from the professional and efficient Jamie at dinner we had a superb stay. Your staff are a credit to uou.The hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was well appointed with a super jacuzzi which our...8 year old grandson thought was "this is the best ever nee nee". We would definitely return for another visit. We would recommend using a paper map as the satnav takes you over the fells on very narrow and bumpy roads...could be a nightmare in bad weather.More

My husband stays here regularly for work, last night was the first time I'd gone along with him for a treat. Irton Hall is a beautiful hotel in equally lovely grounds. The staff are great and very welcoming, the food is great too - we...enjoyed a fab evening meal and I had breakfast the following morning (see picture attached) that was well presented and very tasty. All in all, I can't wait to go back and was sad to leave. Next time I'll bring my dog and have some walks locally and enjoy the hotel for longer. I'd recommend Irton Hall to anyone if they were thinking of staying in the area.More

The meals are not bad and the size is OK. We stayed in the hotel and used this place for our dinners - it was good enough and acceptable alternative for any other place for meal, we would need to drive to. They serve local...draft ale (forgot the name) - I gave it a chance but I switched to a "corporate" lager, afterwards ....More

Staff very helpful eat in the restaurant couple of times also good tasty well cooked. Good WiFi and rooms had TV shower bath etc. If anything the...rooms could have a lick of paint but nice and spotlessly clean. Fair price for what you get.More

We stayed in one of the cottages in grounds of the hotel. The cottage was a little tired but ok. The main issue with the place is the cockerel that is housed close to the front of the hotel. In early July, it starts crowing...at 4am which is not conducive to a good night’s sleep....the main function of an hotel. The owners need to address this if they hope to get repeat business.More

Hi AlistairS60 Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I can only be disappointed that your review is 1 star based on the waking call of our cockerel. There appears to be no mention of the self catering facilities, staff interaction or...More

What a great Hotel, extremely pet friendly yet spotlessly clean. The staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast menu had a great selection of hot and cold options, and I have to say that the full English was...a plate full. We ate in the restaurant onsite, well in the bar as pets aren’t allowed in the restaurant, and again a good selection of great food, well priced and plenty of it. The hotel itself is well located and has its own grounds, great for walking the dog in the evening. There is easy access to the lakes and the coast is only a few miles away with some clean local sandy beaches. All in all a Hotel we would revisit, not only for it’s location, but for the food and staff. If there is a negative it would have been nice to have the bar available earlier in the afternoon, so you had access to drinks and coffees etc, as it is it is not open until 5.00pm, a minor point.More

Visited for Sunday dinner wkth my husband, parents and baby. Staff were friendly and Sunday dinner was lovely. Fresh veg, huge Yorkshires, tender meat and lovely gravy. We will definitely be back. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and fresh fruit for dessert that was...also amazing. Clean toilets and baby change was available. Lovely walk around the grounds after looking at the squirrels to walk our dinner off. Thank you irton hall.More
