I love the food here. It's always well cooked and presented and the service is friendly. Bottle of wine, garlic bread, chicken fillet, fish and chips and two blackberry desserts came to 57Euro before tip. There was some of Rita's artwork on the wall that I would have loved.

We didn't have a booking but were fortunate to get a table. The waiter advised us before hand that there would be a wait of 25 minutes or so before he could take our order as they were busy preparing the meals for 2 bigger groups. This was not an issue for us but realise it might put some people off. Not a huge choice on the menu but we both thoroughly enjoyed the food. Glass of wine was only 4 euro and the bottles of wine were very reasonably priced too. Will be back!

We were down to the last two nights of our fortnights stay in lovely Lanzarote and we were looking for somewhere new and different to try for dinner when we came upon this restaurant. All we can say is thank goodness we did as it turned out to be the best meal of our whole trip. What a lovely restaurant, not only amazing food and lovely people but fabulous artwork for sale to peruse while you are dining. We chose to share a starter of spicy fishcakes and these were very tasty and beautifully presented. Our mains were Pork medallions with sherry sauce and an Angus steak with pepper sauce. These dishes were simply delicious. We had just enough room for dessert and ordered Caramel pudding and apple pie, both lovely dishes and again so well presented. Our bill including a bottle of wine and beer and a fabulous Irish coffee came to 77 euros which we thought was very reasonable for what we had. The husband and wife team who own the restaurant both took time despite being busy to chat to us and they were delightful. We are back in March and this will be our first port of call. Can't wait.

This well-loved restaurant is the only Scandinavian one in PDC, and really does offer something different and special! Run by Norwegian couple Rita and Salva, you are always assured a warm welcome, and an excellent meal. We found this restaurant a few years back on one of our annual January trips to Lanza, and it’s become a firm favorite ever since. It’s in a fine position too - midway along the ‘strip’ up a short flight a stairs, with a lovely view out over the ocean. Another unusual thing about this restaurant is that the interior also acts as a gallery for Rita’s amazing paintings! She really is a very talented artist, and many of these are available to buy. There are also now books of her paintings available to peruse too. I can’t recommend this place enough - the food is amazing, and once you’ve visited, you’ll just want to keep on coming back.

An absolutely 10 out of 10. I’ve been in Lanzarote for 10 days and just found this nearly secret spot. It’s known about by word of mouth… It’s 9.00pm and i walk up the staircase that leads from the main road and went in. From that moment I had an amazing evening and eating experience. The Viking House is owned and run by a wonderful couple, Salva and Rita. Salva is front of house with Rita the amazing chef and in house artist. It’s a compact restaurant there are only about 30 table (set out with either 2 or 4 chairs. I sat down at a table with a real linen table cloth and a view of the sea. There is soft music playing in the background, great artwork produced by Rita on the walls nice lighting all-in-all an easy going ambiance and atmosphere. The menu is Scandinavian in heritage and design, even Rita’s grandmothers influences are in evidence in the cod with fried bacon. There is not an enormous menu, it’s limited to about 6 starters and 12 main courses, there are separate drinks and dessert menus as well. Do not be worried about the size of the menu, it’s perfect with something for all tastes including vegetarians and Vegans Whilst I was there, there were 2 couples and a family already eating and all complemented Rita when she popped out from the kitchen to talk to them about the food…. So when you arrive Salva places a portion of fresh cooked bread and alioli on the table. The bread is made on site and the sauce is from a 30 year old recipe. A great start. I went for the creamy fish soup for a starter and the Peppersteak for a main course. The creamy fish soup was beautiful, a lovely creamy texture (not to runny or too thick) it contained fresh vegetables and dill, there was a very mild aniseed back flavour and not to forget plenty of fish as well. Not over salted, lovely texture and full of flavour. Then came the Steak with a separate potato gratin. The steak could be cut with a fork, I had mine rare to medium, the sauce was peppered but not overbearing, the fresh (yes fresh) stir fried vegetables were flavoursome and al-dente the potato gratin was multi layered with plenty of cheese on top and a cream sauce throughout. I was happy with what I had eaten, so no dessert this visit. t should be noted that my whole meal of freshly prepared and expertly cooked food and drink cost €28.00. Amazing value. The whole meal of freshly prepared and expertly cooked food and a drink cost €28.00. Amazing value. The whole experience was amazing, i will be back, probably tomorrow and maybe every day I have left in Lanzarote. I hope that in this day and age of fast food, the Viking House dose not change their amazing concept of what Scandinavian home cooked high quality food at a reasonable price is and keep this secret gem of a place going for when I next come to Lanzarote. Long live and continue to prosper the Viking House, Salva and Rita.

This is one of our favourite restaurants. We’ve visited the island three times now and will always return to the Vikinghus. It is great Scandinavian food, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The meatballs are amazing and it is served and cooked by the owners. Service is excellent and can highly recommend a visit here.

This restaurant is only open between October/November to March. It closes in the summer as they go home to Norway. The food and ambience is excellent. The service is very personal and welcoming. The restaurant itself is rustic and has art work by Rita who is the chef and owner with her husband. Would recommend highly as there’s a good choice of food for all tastes. We actually returned a second time in our weeks stay. The recommended house wine was fabulous & great value.

We arrived in resort at 9pm and did not have a reservation but were lucky to get a table as it was busy. The restaurant had a lovely feel to it and only had one waiter, the owner but the service was good. We really enjoyed our meal, we had the lamb stew and the fish stew both were very tasty. The only disappointment was the traditional dessert that was cream and port, it wasn't to our liking. We had a few glasses of red wine which were delicious and the bill came to under £50, excellent value.

We identified this restaurant via a trip adviser search to seek something just a bit different in a holiday resort and were pleased with the result. For starters we had the cod fishcakes and the prawns with mushrooms. Not normal fishcakes by any means but very tasty. For the mains we decided to have the fish stew and once again received something totally different to what was expected. The fish stew came as fish in a white creamy sauce and a portion of lightly flavoured curry spiced rice in the centre of the dish. Different but extremely nice food and enjoyable to eat. For desserts we chose their apple pie which was delightful. Together with a bottle of Marques De Caceras and a half bottle of Vina del Sol plus after dinner ports our bill came to 104 Euros. Service was pleasant and it was nice to receive a table visit from the chef owner after our meal. We will definitely return next November on our next holiday here.

My wife and I pre-booked this restaurant before travelling to Lanzarote and so glad we did. Probably the best meal of our weeks stay, in fact enjoyed it so much we returned for our last night. Freshly cooked quality meals and personal service. My pork fillet and Angus steak lovely, as was the cod dish my wife had twice ! Cod might seem a simple fish, but it's very easy to overcook, but perfect here. Nice stir fried vegetables, mashed potatoes and gratinated ones also. Good value for the quality and such friendly people. The restaurant is up some stairs on the first floor. It looks unpretentious, but don't walk past, you'll miss one of the best meals in Puerto. No hesitation to recommend and we will return Edward and Christina McAlpine

Visited this lovely restaurant last week for the first time and have to say it's now up there amongst the best meals I've had on the island. Small place with tasteful music and an art gallery décor with the wife in the kitchen and husband front of house, which normally bodes well. I was in a fish kinda mood so went for the creamy fish soup to start and grilled cod for main. I have heard in several places that there are supply issues across the Canaries and so the cod was off, but instead they had sourced saithe. I had no idea what this was. Quick Google and turns out to be Coalfish, or Coley as I knew it. This is a type of pollack. They seemed confident it was good so I was in. Out came the soup with bread and aioli. Wow, lovely chunks of various fish in a thick rich broth, bursting with flavour. I chose the house red to accompany which wine snobs might sigh at, but turned out be a good partner to the main course. The large fillet of coley on a bed of veg with canary potatoes was a lot meatier than cod, and prepared to perfection. I relished every mouthful. To finish home made apple tart/cake which was a little heavier on the cake than the apples than I would normally prefer, but still excellent. All in all a place for that special occasion. Nice sea view too. Climb the stairs.

We ate here three times in a nine day holiday in PDC the food was so good . There are still lots of dishes on the menu that I look forward to trying next winter. Also welcome was the complimentary delicious warm olive bread with a garlicky dip . The house red and white wines were of good quality too

The last time I reviewed this restaurant was January 2015.So what would it be like on a return visit 7 years later? Shared fishcake starter with a little bit of salad was simple food done so well.. Accompanied by the recommend house white it was a treat. Present Wife's pork was good to the last finger licking taste of the sauce. My cod on a Mediterranean vegetable mix was (like the previous occasion)cooked to perfection and accompanied with lovely canary potatoes. Service was professional, courteous, and discrete from a charming gentleman. Did it get better? Well yes it did.. We never have dessert but on this occasion (in view of the foregoing)we decided to share the Queen Maude mousse (apparently a Norwegian speciality). Probably the best dessert we've ever had- light but surprisingly rich but not overpowering and a fitting end to a first class meal. If you like your plate piled high the portions may not seem huge but I honestly don't think you will find a better meal in PDC. We look forward to returning very soon . Compliments to the chef and staff on an all-round brilliant and memorable meal. The best we had in PDC. Just climb that stairs!

Proper Norwegian restaurant hidden amongst lots of Chinese restaurants. Limited but quality menu that should cover most tastes. I had Poached cod with bacon which was fantastic. It came with root veg mash and roasted veg. My partner had pan fried cod with veg in a basil sauce with Canarian pots. Both meals fantastic. QUALITY FOOD. Nice glass of house white to wash it down. Highly recommended Only shame was we had a large lunch so only went for main course
