We have been travelling and wanting to taste the foods of the countries we have been in - but it has been difficult. In Iceland we ended up eating Middle Eastern and Indian. In Belgium we had pizza. I enjoyed goose liver with mushrooms and Gerhard had the game liver with mashed potatoes in an onion cream sauce. We agree with the other reviewers, just fabulous. In German, a "Geheimtipp"!

Typically German, with emphasis on "Wild Essen" (game) zum Wispertal is renowned for its excellent food and friendly, family atmosphere. My husband loves the trout, their specialty. I do not care for trout, but they have a few other options that are very good. My favorite is the schnitzel with creamy mushroom sauce and pan cooked potatoes. They are usually able to help you understand the German menu if you don't know much German.
