Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is in the perfect location, a beautiful building and so much promise. Sadly an off season visit was filled with disappointment. There is very little in the way of traditional mallorquín food here and more like a lazy attempt at Spanish food through...a German lense. This may be what you’re looking for if you are looking for an over priced menu, indifferent wait staff and cheaply sourced food. All presented on a menu that while easy to read, does look like it’s printed directly from excel. This could however be improved simply by working on the ingredients served, thoughtful presentation and re training of the staff. The score here while it may seem unfair could be a 3, if it weren’t for the price point - which is far over the average in the area. Eg, Orange juice (unsure if freshly squeezed) at €5.80More

DO NOT EAT HERE As mentioned in previous reviews this restaurant is a Tourist Trap with exorbitant prices and a credit card scam forcing payment in cash at the end of your meal. Food and service actually very good but way overpriced for the quality....Passing through Santanyi we stopped without reading previous reviews BIG MISTAKE. Located center of town next to vintage church and main town rectangle. Santanyi is becoming a predominantly German expat town and most restaurants feature German and local Mallorca fare. If they would just post CASH ONLY instead of their credit card scheme I would have rated higher. My experience in the restaurant business suggests cash only policy is a way of obscuring revenue to avoid paying appropriate taxes to the local authorities.More

My family and I had lunch for a total cost of 100 euros, it was very nice with attentive and friendly service. When I used my credit card to attempt payment, five times with Four different cards and was told the charges were declined, I...was very surprised. I checked one card in my online account and the charges were received and being processed. When I noted this to the waiter, he indicated that was actually incorrect and that I needed to pay. This resulted in a short and offensive discussion with a manager who simply stated that I needed to pay a different way and walked away from me while I was talking. He would not discuss the conflicting accounts. Eventually, another manager or perhaps owner, came by and was slightly more agreeable. I paid with cash with the agreement that if any of the five credit card charges went through, they agree to returning the funds. The one manager was very disagreeable and ruined an otherwise nice afternoon. Don't support institutions with such disagreeable management. We won't again.More

Visited on Saturday Night to eat out. Only German Guests, German speaking servants, no local spirit. Prices beyond imagination, 5,50 € for a small beer, 7,00 € for an apple cider. Tiny portions, left hungry. Total rip-off, better eat at home.

Maybe the title says it all…. The location of the terrace is nice and has a good ambience and maybe eating at 10:00pm was not the wisest move, when clearly the restaurant wanted to close. What drives a good restaurant, good food coupled with good...service with the right ambience, so why is it so difficult to get these basics correct? Food, the selection was mediocre and the quality of the food was less so, probably the best part of the meals - was the chips that came with two of them… the rest, the less said the better. Good service, is not coughing everywhere, flirting with girlfriends and desperate to smoke a cigarette- let alone looking at phones, although this seems a curse of the times we live in. As I said the location of the terrace is good and it should be easy to build upon this but the owners view clearly is that we have a “tourist trap”, get them to visit once and don’t expect them to come back. I did think it might be possible to convert it to a wine bar, with tapas, snacks, etc but they would need to get their selection of wines sorted as well, probably the worst house wine on the island.More

We had two wonderful dinners here in the small bar - gracious service and delicious food! The menu is quite varied so perfect for whatever mood strikes. Highly recommended.

The scenery is amazing but that is the main and only draw of this restaurant. We had to wait 90 minutes between starter and main and then our sons pasta’s arrived cold AND 10 minutes before me and my wife’s dishes. Food was nothing special...and certainly did not live up to the hefty prices. If you charge 30 Euro for a main course in Spain you expect a bit more than the average tourist fare on the coast. When we carefully inquired if there maybe was a problem in the kitchen, the waiter was very offended. ‘Of course the pasta’s arrive earlier. They are easier to make.’ That says it all….More

Pedimos 2 cervezas mahou, y nos cobraron casi 12€. Y además no aceptaban tarjeta. We ordered 2 beers and we paid almost 12€ for that.... and they don’t accept credit card... It’s not a luxury hotel for those prices

A great place, with several different areas -tables outside by the church, inside there is a pretty courtyard with lots of atmosphere. Great staff, all so pleased to see us Brits slowly coming back. Amazing risotto! They make a lot of products themselves - including...superb limoncello. We raved about it and after paying the bill they happily gave us a gorgeous bottle to take home, so kind.More

We come here a few times a year, the food is amazing, good quantities and original. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My little dog also feels very welcome as she always gets water and a treat first! We truly love this little spot in...Santanyí and would recommend checking it out if you haven't been yet!!!More

Beautiful Sa Botiga is our family’s favorite restaurant in Mallorca, their friendly service and lovely location right next to the church of Santanyi and the charming atmosphere of this pretty restaurant make us feel at home and truly welcome! We love to come here for...their delicious breakfast and lunch and have enjoyed many dinner celebrations on their charming and spacious terrace too! We love that Sa Botiga offers favorite dishes for everyone in our family, our teenagers enjoy their great meat dishes, especially the entrecôte and the medallion of black pork, we all enjoy sharing their excellent tapas creations, my husband enjoys their pasta and seafood and I personally appreciate very much that they offer so many wonderful healthy vegetarian dishes as well, the beetroot carpaccio, zucchini pasta and celery piccata being some of my favorites!!! Oh, and their desserts and homemade cakes are dreamy too....:)!! All in all, highly recommendable!! Thank you Sa Botiga!!!❤️More

Arrived for a meal with my Spanish in laws, my partner asked for a English menu and was told 'You can translate it for him'. Ordered 10 types of tapas and waited over an hour for it to arrive, food was half decent but really...not great for €50. The steaks arrived after another 30 or so minutes, asked for medium rare and arrived completely overcooked and tough, felt like they were reheated. Complained as it's not what you expect for €30 a steak, we were refunded for the steaks but told by the waiter 'The kitchen said they were fine, are you going to complain about the beers too?' Terrible service from the start and the food definitely isn't worth the money, location is nice but you're better off going somewhere else if you want to enjoy your time here.More

Disappointing breakfast. Breakfast is German but with a poor supposedly homemade (doesn’t mean it’s good) dry bread, cheap Aldi cheese slices. I asked for an omelette with cheese and ham and got a broccoli and spring onion one!! Save your money it’s a rip off!
