This restaurant is absolutely excellent in every way. Staff were more than helpful, and a joy to chat with. The food was wonderful. We had the fish soup, which was outstanding, as was the ginger and plum loaf! The toilets were absolutely spotless. I have...never seen such attention to detail in any restaurant like in this one. I highly recommend this restaurant.More

Visited twice during our recent week in Orkney for a light lunch and then for tea & cake. After the first visit had to go back for cake as they looked wonderful and we were not disappointed. The jewellery is just amazing and so tempting

One of the first places we ventured to on our 4 day trip to Orkney, it left such a good impression (and taste) that we returned again on last day. Staff were lovely, welcoming and provided accurate, friendly covid rules, tables were spaced out really...well and due to the lovely venue it's light and airy. I tried the chicken and leek pie which was beautiful and then upon my return I had the beautiful Kirk Grilled Cheese toast - YUM!! As for the cakes, unsurprisingly fresh, tasty and reasonable value. When I return to Orkney I can't wait to come back and sample more on the menu.More

This gallery and cafe offers the experience of real beauty in its surroundings and of course through the jewellery on sale. The brunch we had was one of the best ever and our takeaway cakes sustained us in the afternoon: all excellent. This is one...of the most established lines of jewellery in Orkney and the exquisite setting now matches it. Food and service were superb. And of course the views en route are amazing and demonstrate the inspiration for the pieces.More

It's a lovely room and setting. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. The mains we had were very nice, above average. We followed with cakes and hot drinks, again, very nice. Would revisit.

I was on a brief visit to Orkney and had to pop an item of jewellery into the adjoining workshop. I was told the repair would take 30 minutes and it seemed to be a good idea to have a quick cuppa and sample one...of the delicious looking cakes while I waited. What a lovely restaurant and by the number of diners present, very popular. I thoroughly enjoyed my snack and on next time north, will definitely book for a lunch. Service was friendly and all Covid regulations were adhered to. Highly Recommended and it is good to see such a nice restaurant located in the East Mainland.More

Excellent lunch and admirable Covid19 safety measures in place. Maître’d diligent and waitress very attentive. Good attractive menu - a little pricey but well worth it.

Visited for lunch and were glad we had booked in advance as they were fully booked. Delicious homemade soup followed by a toastie using local cheese. However it was the staff that were the stars of the show. Friendly, welcoming, professional, and happy to give...us tourist tips as they were obviously proud to live and work in Orkney. Thoroughly recommend a visit!More

I've reviewed the Kirk Cafe every time I have been in Orkney since it opened. It has to be one of the loveliest spaces to eat anywhere, never mind the glorious food and attentive staff. Don't come all the way to Orkney and miss it.
