RATING: 5/5 TASTE: 5/5 In Germany for the first time I wanted to try some local fare. In this visit I managed to try: Goose Butter with fresh German Bread, Port Schnitzel, Spargel with Green Sauce. Followed by an amazing Chocolate Fondant and Mango Sorbet with Mint All lubricated with a tangy glass of Apple Wine. SERVESIZE:5/5 Perfect. SERVICE:5/5 Very... More

Excellent, fresh food in beautiful Fachwerk setting. A bit expensive, but a lovely place to go for a special occasion.

The restaurant is just in the central square of Darmstadt, and it is easy to find it. When you enter you may choose to stay downstairs in the typical brewery, even to eat, or may go upstairs in the elegant restaurant. We went upstairs, the hall and the tables are very elegant and waiter was very kind. The menu offer... More

We had a party of 6 which included 2 picky children. We had the risotto, steak, lamb and goulash. Everything was incredible and we look forward to going back! Our waiter was very informative and attentive.

Looking for a nice place to sit and eat after walking around the Christmas market, we stopped in here and truly enjoyed the food. However, our waiter was very odd and unaccomodatong with our questions. In the end, it was a good experience, but I wouldn't accept the bad waiter if I returned.

On a cold night in January, I enjoyed a perfectly cooked (for me, that means 'pink') rack of lamb with a flavorful herb crust. My husband ate venison, and was also pleased with the meat and its generous accompaniments. The restaurant is in an historic, stone-walled courtyard behind the Vortaunus Museum (museum of local history and archaeology), just off the... More

Atmospheric old world charm with excellent food. The bouillabaisse was epic and the warm goat cheese salad a crowd pleaser.

We've been there with a group of about 40 colleagues for a Christmas diner and almost everything was within the expectation: a preset menu with nicely presented food, and some acceptable shortcomings such as sticky dumplings and a watery sauce. The service, however was tardy throughout the evening, and very surprising towards the end, when the waitress complained heavily to... More
