Yes it has a great name. And yes it has some surprisingly good reviews. And yes the staff were attentive and pleasant. But the food was only mediocre pub grub at best. The fish and chips was basic frozen supermarket standard. And the mussels were...presented drowned in a thick Thai curry sauce with the smallest mussels I have EVER seen - no bigger than a thumbnail. But the much anticipated whole lobster was the biggest disappointment. Over-seasoned and mushy - each half afforded just 4 bites of lobster meat - and the whole lobster was pitiful in size, not even 1lb in weight. It looked so small that you wondered if it was even legal to catch such a small sized lobster. And at £38 we expected better. We will not return. This restaurant is resting on past laurels and awards and has lost interest in providing quality food. It’s a rip off - and we got the impression that the serving staff knew it as well. Embarrassing.More

What a beautiful experience all round We dandered into the Lobster Pot on a whim and we where not disappointed. One of the lovely young girls got us seated at the window . Chatted away and got our drinks ordered. Another really lovely girl took...our food order and chatted away to us i had seafood chowder ( large ) and it was definitely thee best seafood chowder i’ve tasted since the last visit 20 years ago ( and that’s not a lie ) absolutely delicious and it could have fed 2 people with a home baked little wheaten loaf . my partner had the roast beef sunday dinner and he devoured it , the roast just fell of the knife it was that perfect. Definitely won’t be waiting 20 years for my next visit. Staff where the nicest/ friendliness girls about and couldn’t be more helpful 10 stars ⭐️ from usMore

My partner and I had dinner on. Friday evening. We shared a Breads starter (freshly baked bread) and tapenade . I could have munched away at this all evening or was so good. We both had scampi as a main course. What a joy to...discover a restaurant that takes its seafood seriously. Whole scampi covered in a thin crispy coating( no wonder people from Belfast travelled down here during covid just for the scampi !!!) Janine, our host, was more than helpful guiding us through an extensive menu. It was so good we immediately booked again for the next evening. Running a successful restaurant ain’t rocket science. Good Food, Good Service, Value for Money. The Lobster Pot certainly scored top marks on all these aspects. Will be back as soon as we can.More

We had a delicious meal in here. Our daughter (3) has milk/egg allergy and they were so accommodating towards her. The chef made her a battered cod - the tastiest she has ever had in her words! Our other meals were fantastic too - selection...of breads, mussels, battered cod and lobster tagliatelle. Great service and quick. Will definitely visit again and recommend to our family and friends.More

We visited with our pet pooch, so ate in the bar area. Good choice has it had a lovely warm log fire burning away. Had a bit of of a chat with the locals. Had a pleasant starter, main course of fish and chips. Washed...down with a couple of pints of 5 Lamps Red Ale. Good value for money.More
