First at all it isn't that inexpensive. It is over the mexican average. The breakfast is okay- especially the self made bread. The bathrooms are incredibly old and dirty. Seems like they aren't not taking care of cleanliness at all.

In a funny twist of fate, my family and I walked into the "centro" to try and find coffee, and returned to our hotel, resigning ourselves to just get some coffee there. How were we to know that we were sleeping above the best cafe in town? Peter brought us French press (the first we've had in Yucatán) and a... More

This is the restaurant associated with Hotel Gutierrez. They are open for breakfast only. You can get a traditional American breakfast or a Mexican. We tried both. The huevos ranchero was great and the eggs with ham and with toast were good. The coffee is a French roast and very good. Order fresh juice. It as fresh as you can... More

Peter the Swiss chef does the best omelette for breakfast we have eaten. His plunger coffee was excellent as was his home made marmalades. He makes his own bread which was a joy to eat. Had a set menu dinner for expats on Friday night and Peter's quiches were to die for. The best we have eaten anywhere. Do not... More

Unlike many other reviewers, we had dinner here, not breakfast. They only open for dinner Friday & Saturday. Although the food and service were good, we were disappointed in the limited choices of pork or chicken on the menu, no beef or fish/seafood at all. The grilled chicken breast with a mushroom gravy was tasty and moist and my wife's... More

We were in Celestun for only a week, and had only one opportunity to eat breakfast there. Omelette, french Toast. It was really good! We also were able to do takeout (Lasagna) when one of his Friday/.Sat dinners were all booked.
