This ethnic restaurant is located on the outskirts of the city along the Vilyuisky tract. Nearby is the kingdom of permafrost - an exhibition of ice sculptures, so you can combine a visit to these two places. There were also several ice sculptures in front...of the restaurant, beautifully lit up at night. It is positioned as a themed restaurant of Yakut cuisine. By and large, this is a small museum, which contains a variety of household items belonging to different centuries. On the walls you can see a large number of flintlock guns, animal heads that live here, dummies of large fish caught, and on the third floor there is a real tent, a collection of fossils - teeth and bones of a mammoth and much more. You can spend time with interest, looking at all these exhibits while your food is being prepared. Here you can taste most of the interesting dishes of the local cuisine. I ordered an Indigirka salad made from frozen fish cut into small cubes, we took nelma stroganina for the company, and I also took foal medallions, because the waiter said that they would be the most tender meat. The meat really turned out to be tender and the degree of roasting ordered was medium rare. An interesting local cream dessert and delicious taiga tea. Definitely worth a visit to get acquainted with the local cuisine and feel the Yakut flavor.More

Rustic and very authentic, tour with the guide through all the different displays is well worth the money. Food and staff were excellent and because it was 30 plus degrees outside, beer was cold! The highlight was Permafrost Kingdome. This series of tunnels and rooms...full of absolutely stunning ice carvings is dug into a hillside. Words don't really describe this place, if your in Yakutsk it is an absolute must to see!More

Good menu with choices of traditional Yakutian dishes. But the most impressive part of this restaurant is the deco — skeleton of a ichthyosaur, array of animal trophies, traditional artifacts and so on. You are literally enjoying a fine meal in a private museum!

A visit to the Kingdom of Permafrost, followed by a meal at the Chochur-Muran Restaurant, here on the outskirts of Yakutsk, Russia, makes for one perfect Sunday afternoon in late March. Friends who live here in Yakutsk simply picked me up and off we went...to see some sights. Nothing could be finer. Before entering the Chochur-Muran Restaurant, more or less out in front of the restaurant, we watched many children being given rides on inflated towables that were pulled behind snow machines. What fun they were having. Then there were sled dogs for the children to see and pet. Finally time for a late afternoon lunch. The interior decor of the Chochur-Muran Restaurant is just phenomenal, rustic, varied and interesting. The serving staff were great as was our food. It is little wonder that the Chochur-Muran Restaurant is at the top of the list of restaurants here in Yakutsk.More

What a special place! We have had the good luck to eat and meet friends in the ‘Chochur Muran’ several times during our stay in Yakutsk and really appreciated the outstanding food and drink – with excellent service. We were basking in the warm and...welcoming atmosphere - a beautiful place to have lunch or dine, and spend time, and enjoy the wooden structures, collections, hunting and other interesting memorabilia. Three floors full of it - and beautifully put together. Loved it – and will hopefully go back!More

I visited Yakutsk with friends over the Christmas holidays and ended up having a couple of meals at Chocur-Muran over the course of a week. The restaurant is exceptional with lots of character. Each room is filled with many ethnic items and unusual artefacts. Make...sure you allow enough time to visit each room as every one is a real treasure trove! The restaurant offers a wide variety of traditional Yakutian food and we worked our way through the entire menu by the end of the week. Amongst many things make sure to try Stroganina (traditional frozen fish slices) with some vodka shots! Service was great and staff very friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to meet German and Irina, the owners of the restaurant. They were both very helpful and attentive to our needs. They enthusiastically answered all our questions and shared stories and advice to enjoy our stay. I don't think there are better hosts in the entire region and make sure to pay them a visit if you are lucky enough to visit Yakutsk!More

We visited this restaurant after viewing the permafrost kingdom which is nearby. The restaurant is located in an ethnic complex which is itself an attraction. On entering the restaurant, there are bone carvings for sale in a glass case to the left. The walls are decorated with...guns, mounted animal heads, furs and other ethnic decorations.Beside the bar is a lighted fish tank with a huge fish. We spend 15 minutes strolling around the restaurant and viewing the items on display before being seated for our meal. The meal consisted of four courses. The appetizer was salted fish and thinly sliced reindeer tongue. Other local treats and salad were also available to sample. The main dish was a staple of the Yakut people, reindeer and potatoes. We were impressed by the reindeer meat, as it was very tasty and the sauce was well done.Dessert was Yakut ice cream with freshly picked berries, and frosted balls that looked like meat balls in icing. The service was excellent and we spent a little over an hour dining. After dinner, we visited the duck pond to the left of the restaurant. There are many ethnic carvings and sculptures on the exterior of the restaurant, and a helicopter which looks oddly out of place amongst the ethnic displays. Our favourite area was to the right of the restaurant , where there was a petting zoo with quite a few reindeer. If time permits, the Chocur Moran viewpoint is a few minutes away opposite the restaurant, on the road that passes the Permafrost Kingdom. This area offers the best views of Lake Chocur Moran and the ethnic complex.More

It is the place when you feel yourself like you travell with the time machine. You pass the parking with all these modern shiny cars and enter to the world of I would say 19 Century with small wooden houses and wild nature. I can't...say it was the best meal I ever tried, maybe because I was not hungry and didn't order national dishes, just ordinary fried pork which was a bit overdried, but it is not about the meal.
