Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Meson San Martin is in Plaza Espana, in Cabra, there are 4 or 5 others nearby but none in the same class. Had both lunch and dinner there which is something I would not often do. BBQ steak while not on the menu was recommended...by waitress and was top class. Wine selection excellent and good value.More

We tried this restaurant as a result of other reviews. Wish we hadn't bothered as it turned out to be the worst experience of our 3 week stay in the area. Very few people in the restaurant on our arrival but we were immediately made...to feel uncomfortable by the female staff and this continued throughout the evening. Having identified that we were English, the staff then excelled at ignoring us and made no effort to provide a 'Michelin Star' Service for us. The food was average at best but we enjoyed far superior quality and quantity at other 'friendlier' restaurants in the area. Even when I went to the bar to reluctantly pay, the waitress still insisted on standing in front of me and pretended to shuffle papers, clean glasses and speak to another waitress until she deemed it convenient to acknowledge me. My production of a credit card was met with a deep sigh and on completion of the transaction, my card was thrown down on the counter towards me and she walked off! Although our Spanish is limited, we found the people in the area to be really friendly and helpful - Not at Meson San Martin though! There are far friendlier bars & restaurants in the area and we enjoyed many return visits to them without issue Top tip - Don't always believe everything you readMore

I have eaten at Meson San Martin a lot; the food is consistently excellent and the service is very attentive (although non-Spanish speakers may struggle!). The menu is traditional Spanish food and has been recommended in the Michelin guide for several years. The calamares, salmorejo...and presa are particular highlights and the jamón and cheese platter is the absolute standout - not to be missed! This restaurant is probably the most expensive in Cabra but it's worth it, especially for celebrating special occasions.More

Meson San Martin situated in the Plaza de Espana No.6 tel. 957 525 131, is a restaurant you just cannot miss. It is closed on Thursdays which was disappointing for me as after visiting it for the first time I had made my mind up...to celebrate my birthday there. In any case I did return for a second meal which I enjoyed as much as my first repeating one of the dishes I had been served before. This was a special spinach grown locally called Colleja – the dish revuelto de Colleja. This consisted of spinach with pine kernels, shrimps and Spanish ham scrambled with eggs. It was out of this world! We followed this by Bacalao en Cazuela con Gambones y almejas, another first for us and scrumptious. A beautiful, succulent cod filet with clams, prawns and red pepper cooked in oil in its own sauce. Perhaps a bit rich for the English palate but absolutely delicious for those enjoying extra virgin olive oil. During our second visit we repeated the Spinach meal as main course and enjoyed as starters the Almejas Marinera, huge clams cooked in a tomato cream sauce. My husband opted for roasted shoulder of lamb which was tender, juicy and very 'moreish' this was served with little potatoes. The desserts are equally delightful. The Catalan Cream almost like a crème Brulee was excellent and the chocolate mousse light and excellent. The owner, an extremely nice and pleasant person is also the chef and so very proud of what he serves. It is no wonder that the ex King of Spain and family patronise this place. The service is excellent. The wine good and price recommendable. A must when in Cabra!More

On Thursday 21/4 the restaurant stayed closed, did not understand why. 22/4 it opened and it was very busy and we could enjoy. Had almejas mariners, presa ajos and paletilla de cordero. It was nice, a serious portion for the plate and as usual in...Andalusia quite affordable.More

We were here in Easter week and it offers an awesome view of each brotherhood. It's a crowded place so, I recommend to book a table if you want to eat here. I strongly recommend to taste their fried fish. It's a bit expensive but...it's recommended in many food guides.More
