Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Go here regular and always brilliant pub grub! Definitely would recommend. The reviews are not a true reflection of this little place. We love it

Went today for lunch my wife asked for lasagna with garlic bread and I asked for gammon, 2 minor issues 1 the lasagna was Luke warm and there were no peas with the gammon when the menu said it came with peas, no-one came to...ask if everything was ok not good, 2 the more serious issue was they put the wife's garlic bread on the plate with the gammon on it now on this occasion it was not a problem but say there was someone with a allergy and they put the wrong food on the wrong plate that could have ended up very badly not sure what's happening in the kitchen but I think they need to up their game on the plus side my gammon was good.More

Can’t fault this place. Food delicious, staff friendly. Good old country pub. Has so much potential but can see what the owner is happy doing. Good food, good portions and fair prices. Great selection of choices. Clean restaurant and couldn’t fault it.

Service fine but a little slow, portion size was small, and I'm mentioning this because of the cost. Fries seemed a little over cooked or recooked, pleasant decor. And finally the cost, 3 mains two kids meals , 4 desert 2 wines and a Guinness.

Really lovely food and staff. We would definitely come back!! We got seated really quickly (it wasn’t busy to be fair)… Our food arrived timely and it was absolutely scrumptious, we had 3 courses and all of them exceeded expectations (I always find one of...them lets you down, but to my surprise this didn’t happen on this occasion).. The portion size was decent, I think anymore and it would’ve been too much.. absolutely recommend hereMore

My sister and I were staying in Templepatrick for one night. We don’t know the area, as expected. We went to Ellie May’s and walked through the wrong door. We then had two GROWN MEN at the bar yelling at us. Next thing, a woman...who worked there stormed over to us and said “What are youse doing?!” in the most unfriendly and rude way. I explained we hadn’t been before and didn’t know where to go. The men at the bar still shouting in the background. Horrible staff, unfriendly, rude, hostile. Would not recommend to anyone. On top of that, the food was rotten.More

Great food at good prices. Service friendly but not too fussy, very typical of NI I’d say! Growing up nearby been coming for years, as do many other local people…think that says it all!

Didn’t expect much having read a few of the recent previews. Mother’s Day visit so very busy but service was excellent as was the food. Ok the restaurant doesn’t have all the frills and modern furnishings of some places but I have no complaints and...sometimes I wonder how genuine some reviews really are .More

I arrived with my wife and was seated quickly. We waited 10 minutes for our drinks order and then had to ask for menu's. We ordered a starter to share which was lovely and ordered our mains. I ordered the chicken stack. My wife ordered...the chicken dinner. We waited about 20mins. My wife's dinner was fine but my dinner was cold. I asked one of the waitresses if they could heat it up. 10 mins later I got my meal back. which was a new one. It was hot so good so far. Half way through I took a mouthful and almost choked. I then pulled a large piece of clingfilm from my mouth. That obviously put me off finishing my meal. I called the waitress and showed her. She said she would show wee Alex in the kitchen. 10 minutes passed and she came back and eventually apologised and told me my meal would be taken off the bill. I wasn't asked if we wanted anything else. I decided to pay the bill and leave. Very disappointed. Won't be back!More

Seated immediately then left 32 minutes for taking the food order, complained twice, was told after drinks order and 20 minutes wait the kitchen was busy, no apology, waited a further 25 mins for food to arrive, counted 11 empty tables, had we not ordered...drinks, we would have walked outMore

I was there with my family my son, daughter in law and my 2 grandchildren. I was very slow service as were were only 2 staff on the floor. We ordered starters which were eventually servedand were fine. However, the mains were served to myself...,my son and my grand children. My granddaughter had finished her meal and my daughter in law was still waiting for her meal. Very bad service as the same thing happened at the table next to us. Its very unlikley we will return.More

My partner and I called in here for a bite to eat last Monday on my way back from Belfast. If there was a spot for no stars, that is what I would give this place. I wantedd to complain but my partner told me...not to as he didn't want to make a scene. Im so sorry I didn't now. I ordered chicken goujons and garlic, and he had the pitta chicken. His chicken was like charred rubber it was so overcooked. My meal was like a plate of grease. The goujonsweres just pure grease on a plate. I scraped the batter off and tried to eat the chicke, but it was like goo. The garlic fries were in a bowl of grease. The young waiter who lifted the plates just did that and no more. We were never offered desserts, notthat wee would have taken any anyway. The other staff were just cleaning around us as if to say it's leaving time. It's very rude to be brushing up floors and spraying tables in a clean u in front of customers. Would most definitely never go near this place again. called in here for a bite to eat last Monday o my way back from Belfast. If there was a spot for no stars, thatt is what I would give this place. Me and my friend called in here for lunch as we had been before and it was good, not such a, good experience this time, I had bbq ribs which were dry tough tasteless and had about one tablespoon of bbq sauce on the top,...some chips were hard in the middle to, my friends was edible if nothing else, very overpriced £40 for bland boring food, staff weren't overly helpful either or pleasant, so I definitely wouldn't recommend or be returning extremely poor.More
