Came to Kos Island from Bodrum. Went into a random cafe near the departure point and didn't miss. Seafood is fresh and deliciously cooked. There are fish assortments for two for 60 euros, grilled shrimp , octopus , paste , wine bottling 14 euros , coffee 7 euros , fish soup about 10 euros , bread 3 euros . And it's all very good. And a beautiful sea view!!!

Great food, great view over the harbour and good location. Me and the kids had fried calamari as my husband had tuna filet. Unfortunately staff was a little distracted, one food came with wrong sides and other glass of wine never arrived before going to find the staff and ask for it and water. Two waiters and customers only in three tables so shouldn’t be too busy for good service.

Small restaurant on the sea side (near the port of kos) very welcoming restaurant, welcoming and smiling staff Small quiet atmosphere by the water , small wooden table lit with small lamp , asser romantic if you are outside on a floor of fine pebbles which makes the moment really typical The card is neither too much nor too full and leaves room for choice Typical dishes very tasty, the tarama has fallen I recommend this small restaurant if you visit Kos city Award level maybe it could be a little more expensive but for the quality of the dishes and small dessert to share offered by the house ..

The scenery sat on the beach is amazing and that’s where it ends. Staff were ok but not really interested in helping with choices or listening to your order. They were too busy moving onto the next table. Warm bread in woven hessian was a great start with olive tapenade and that is where it ended. Muscles tasted nice but no bread no bowl provided to wash hands in. No clean serviettes or cutlery provided. Tuna and accompaniments was tasteless and cold I couldn’t eat it. The fries I ordered with the main meal were served as a starter and then taken away to serve the main without asking if we still required them. The halloumi was ok but cold The pork chop was huge but dry and tasteless. When the waiter asked if we enjoyed it the reply was no it was tasteless and cold. There was no feedback he just walked away !! The worst yet the most expensive meal we’ve had in two weeks.

At a table for me alone, which I think they had to get used to, that I didn't bring anyone. Overlooking the sea. So incredibly good food. Good service. Everything was fresh and the fries tasted like potato for a change, which is exceptional. With my shrimp in sauce I got fresh pita bread with olive oil and those tasty fries. Highly recommended (not to be confused with the neighbors: the names are very similar and I'm not the only one who made the mistake, to my great regret) Do book in advance, because if you want to sit on the outside terrace for the sunset and the view you grab next to the net, it's always full. Come again next year. Yes, I am. And they are a bit more expensive than the surrounding restaurants, but also the best in the neighborhood.

We had a nearby restaurant recommended to us and went there, there were no tables available on the beach, we were offered a table in the inside area which frankly, is grubby ! We politely declined and even said we were happy to return at a later date. Instead of asking if we wished to book, the waiter gave us a disgusted look, shrugged and gesticulated toward the exit ! Luckily, we went next door ( to the left ) and were warmly greeted and shown to a table just before the beach, perfect. As was the service, friendly, starter… tsatziki and pitta… perfect. Mains… I’ve had swordfish before and been disappointed so opted for the sea bass fillet. We live in Scotland surrounded by all kinds of restaurants from the Lobster Shack ( clue ) to Michelin starred like the Kitchin, and are fortunate enough to sample many of them… I have not had a finer piece of fish! My wife is braver and had the swordfish souvlaki which was also superb. Simply but perfectly presented with grilled veg. Accompanied by a delicious rosé, the only problem was our ability to finish the meal, skimpy the portions are not… thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience… the complimentary cheesecake is light and flavourful, but unnecessary… we ate some out of politeness, but we were already full. P.S. to the young couple next to us who, after substantial starters managed to finish the fish platter for 2 persons…Kudos ! That plate would feed several people, every element looked amazing and your comments confirmed just that. Highly recommend this establishment.

My friends and I visited Kos for 3 short days and were lucky enough to have two fantastic meals at Agkyra, lunch on the first day and dinner on the 2nd. The service was impeccable, with a very relaxed friendly vibe, sitting outside looking over the beach. The food was faultless and very reasonable. We tried a lot of the menu, from the traditional tzatziki and taramasalata with fresh warm bread, to the prawns, calamari, sea bream and the best fillet steak I have ever had, it was just perfect. We even got some complimentary gorgeous strawberry cheesecake. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I hope we come back again.

Really lovely restaurant with an amazing view, we were seated right next to the sea which was incredible - be careful though as there were a couple waves that got us wet! We had pita and tzatziki to start which was lovely, we both then had the white sauce seafood pasta which all tasted delicious but our only negative was it was a little dry and could’ve done with more sauce. A nice touch that we were given a complementary cheesecake at the end though! The service was a little slow considering it wasn’t too busy but all in all would recommend going especially for the setting!

Gorgeous location, greek decor, just round the corner from Kos town harbour. We had a light lunch (scallops were delicious, seafood spaghetti too) but everything was cooked to perfection. Top tip - ask them to order you a cab if you are leaving straight after and avoid the horrendous queues at the cab rank.

Have been to Agkyra many times over the years and each time the food is fantastic. Family run taverna with delicious food. Dined there on our first and last night of the holiday. The tuna fillet and grilled vegetables were cooked to perfection. Thank you Elion and family. 🧡

We walked in without a booking. We had gone looking for another restaurant in the same street recommended in a magazine. When we got there they were busy but couldn't be bothered to see if they could fit us in We went into Angkyra and the lady was very obliging. They offered us two tables to choose ; one being on the sand. We found the food delicious The prawn linguine was great as were the mushrooms in the appetizers Price was reasonable. And the service was fine considering how busy they were Have a go

We were here based on EliasN97's recommendation. I can recommend the shrimp and salmon. My girlfriend had the sea bream. We just loved it every time. We would recommend it without reservation. Fresh fish and a kitchen that knows what it's doing. Because it's usually busy, the service can sometimes take a little longer, but the view shortened the waiting time. We absolutely recommend it and in my opinion it's the best (affordable) restaurant on Kos. It's not cheap, but in our opinion it's worth it!

My Wife and I had dinner here as walk ins on Sat 30th September 2023. We were placed on a table out towards the back of the restaurant. There is a run of about 5 Fish focussed restaurants in a row just off the Marina in Kos Town. We had a Tzatziki starter to share which was amazing. Most tangy! I also had a very nice Greek salad. We then had fish mains - I had an excellent seared Tuna and my Wife ate a glazed salmon fillet. We chose a bottle of local white wine and we had water and beers too. It was a very good first Dinner in Kos. A place to find and sone here if you are here.

Place in an excellent location and in my opinion stocked with fresh fish. Too bad for the management of the room! Customers are left to their own devices, I don't know if it's due to poor efficiency or a real lack of staff... Half an hour of waiting just to order. Good appetizers, anything fried tasted like calamari, maybe we change the oil; overcooked pasta with seafood and peppers in the sauce... (good fish though)

Very busy and a wait for a table despite having a booking. Unfortunately despite the lovely location it seems the service is severely lacking, we waited over 30 minutes before our order was taken, however the food did arrive quickly after that, the same cannot be said for most of our neighbours who were all in various stages of annoyance at the slow service. Food was average, octopus starter overcooked.
