Lovely welcome and lovely food. The menu offered variety, the staff were very warm and attentive and the ambience was homely. The portions and quality of the food were good and the coleslaw was the best ever! Would thoroughly recommend.

This was our first time at the Front Parlour and clearly this is a popular little place. However, the customer service experienced was beyond appalling! We decided to visit the tea room to simply have a drink and a slice of cake, whilst enjoying a...bit of a rest. We arrived just as they were opening and there was already a substantial queue. The venue had plenty of signs stating that Sunday roasts are served and there is no need to book. Additionally, there is plenty of seating for around 60 guests. We found a table and then I joined the queue to place an order, which took approx. 20 minutes owing to the number of large groups ordering lunch. I noted a comment made to one customer that £50 notes are not accepted (and there is a sign stating this), however, the tone in which the server/owner approached this made even me feel uncomfortable! When it was time to place my order, I asked for a pot of tea for one, a latte, and a slice of cake. This was met with the server asking if I was ordering a roast dinner. I replied no, and she immediately looked frustrated as she scribbled away and looked down.... almost like rolling her eyes at me. The drinks came promptly, and was served by a very polite young lady. At no point during our visit did we have any issue with the waitress. A short time later, the server/owner came up to clear our table by asking if we were done. My partner replied by saying we had finished with the plate but she still had tea to drink. The server then rudely stated that she needed the table for roast dinners, and walked away. Other customers then looked over at our table as this drew attention. Approximately 10 minutes later, the server/owner came back to the table and said she was sorry, but would need us to leave as she needs the table for roast dinners and not just people wanting tea and sat chatting! She also, very rudely said that we had been there for about 45 minutes and quite frankly that is more than enough time! Again, this drew attention from other tables! We finished up and left, noting at least 4 other tables that were free or awaiting to be cleaned, and empty tables outside. This was meant to be a nice little break with a drink, and we were made to feel like youths causing anti-social behaviour! The server (who I believe to be the owner) was, quite frankly, rude with zero customer service and people skills! Nowhere prior to entry could we see any information stating customers wanting a roast dinner only were welcome. If this is the case, tables should be reserved to make it clear! This is a tea room and we simply wanted a drink and a rest. The whole experience left us both feeling uncomfortable by the way we treated; spoken to; and the attention is created by the server/owner! I have never been one for confrontation and not once did we bite back at this lady, who immediately walked away after laying down the law to us! I am all for fairness when writing reviews and so this is my honest review. Sadly, the only positive comment I can leave is regarding the polite young waitress who brought our drinks. I am sure this venue has its fair share of loyal customers; however, this is one place that will not receive our custom again. I would also very strongly not recommend this establishment to anybody, either local or visiting. There is a much more friendly tea shop near the amusements. I recommend that you avoid this tea shop at all costs.More

Lovely place to eat. Roast dinner was £11.99 Child was £6.99. My 5 year old will not have food touching on a plate. This was No Problem for the lovely lady that served us. She even served it on adult plate for spacing and served...gravy in a jug in centre of plate. The food was so fresh, still a little crunchy perfect for all my party of 5 adults one child. The young girl that brought our meals was beautiful and Very smiley and polite. She a credit to The Front Parlour. I can't say a Single bad thing about here. We will 1000% be returning next time we visit. Thank You Front Parlour For Lovely Meal, Atmosphere and All Staff. Chef was also lovely lady too. P.S Your toilet facilities were also Spotless.More

Terrible service. Asked whether the sausages were gluten free as one member of our family has coeliac disease. The response was ‘I don’t know - I’ll have to ask the kitchen staff, but they might have thrown the packaging away!’ Server was very offhand, and...made us feel very unwelcome. I provided our own gluten free bread. Had to ask for remainder of loaf back. Bacon sandwiches were ok, but on cheap thin sliced bread. Such a shame as the interior of the cafe is very pretty, but the service and good didn’t match. Won’t be going there again.More

Stopped at Burnham on Sea to break up journey and have summer lunch. Very sad to see seaside towns like this looking so run down. Lots of boarding up premises along the front and shabby arcades etc. Not very inviting. Lunch in Front Parlour along...main front. Nice café. Quite a bit of choice. Usual chips/burgers/ham etc. Lovely sandwich made with very tasty fresh bread, although only white available. Reasonably priced. Really friendly service.More

We purposely chose this cafe to eat at as they advertise gluten free choices and we have a young gluten free child in our family. We were extremely disappointed that the child's menue had no gluten free choices . The main menu choice was extremely...limited and we were advised that the cafe would not do a child size portion off the main menu.More

First day we attended for a cream tea, it was nice, loads of jam and cream, tea was tasty too. The scones were nice, not the best I have ever tasted, but not the worst. Great service, we sat outside and it was pleasant enough...out there, We then had breakfast there the following day, breakfast we nice, the coffee was ok, not amazing but ok. The breakfast itself was good, mostly quality ingredients and reasonable value. Service was good.More

We popped into this place to try their afternoon cream tea and I can only say that it is probably the best I have ever had. Very friendly staff, didn't have to wait very long either. When they brought it out, we both took a...deep breath in. It looked amazing and we weren't disappointed. The scones were home made and they were so fresh just a touch of the knife and it went straight through. Add to that a sumptuous helping of jam and cream and a lovely pot of tea for me and they even made a latte for my wife as she doesn't drink tea. It's an easy 10/10 from this traveller. Oh yeah and the best sign for the loos I have seen in ages(see photo)More
