Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ordered a fillet of fish with accompanying vegetables unaware that the vegetables were served cold, The fish arrived lukewarm, as if it had been standing for some time. It was taken away to be reheated, as were the vegetables which arrived after I’d finished the...fish. The fillet also had bones in it and when I pointed this out, was told that ‘ fish have bones and there weren’t many of them’. Fish yes but when you pay top price for a fillet, one assumes that they’re bone free. No apology offered or acknowledgment of the damage that can be done by one bone to an unsuspecting throat!! I asked for a reduction and was only offered the cost of the vegetables, which I hadn’t eaten. A dispute unfurled and the gendarme arrived. Whilst they were sympathetic they pointed out that the law says that because I’d eaten the dish I had to pay. My only recourse was to write a review, Which I’ve done. The attitude of the chef and staff didn’t help the situation.More

A few days away with my daughter and we had a recommendation from the locals we rented a house from. It was a really relaxed atmosphere, great staff and the food out of this world, especially the oysters. I will return as thinking of buying...not too far away and the best thing was arguing about the bill....I thoughts they'd undercharged!More

We spent several days in Gruissan - not a very exciting destination, but this restaurant, where we went twice, made it worthwhile. A small menu but everything possible was locally sourced; food was delicious, exquisitely prepared, and presented with care and attention to detail. Wines...were also local and very good. Certainly the best restaurant we ate in on our holiday. The razor shells were especially good. We tried the same dish elsewhere and were able to feel the difference between a good restaurant and a great one.More

We went for a romantic dinner a deux and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and were seated on a beautiful Terrance by a superb waiter . At once we were offered an aperitif with quite the best olives I have tasted in France ....The waiter was attentive and helpful with the rather elaborate inviting mouth watering menu menu which sounded so very tempting . We both started with razor clams perfectly cooked with a tasty sauce My boyfriend was then presented with an octopus tentacle it wasn’t memorable despite being well cooked this was accompanied by cœur de beuf tomato which measured about 2 cms x2cms it came across as pretentious his comments of dismay went unheard by the staff! I had espadon- over cooked on the outside under cooked on the inside , it was a small rectangle on a bed of warm pea soup with some peas on top . We shared a desert of local goats cheese with honey which was good and generous thankfully because we were still hungry ! On a more positive note food wise thé bread was exceptional very crusty and fresh , the wine was delightful, we followed the waiters advice and chose a white wine grown on the salt planes which was extraordinary both salty and sweet a real find a must ! It’s called Les terres salle We felt as if we could have eaten toast on our return .. what a shameMore

In a lovely street of the old town of Gruissan, this restaurant has elected to reside in an old house , splendidly renovated with an outdoor terrace under the “vignes” that is full of charm. The waiter was exceptional, using story telling, knowledgeable, and very...accommodating as well. The menu is short with a mix of traditional and local food and other with a modern spin using fresh vegetables and different spices. It’s a French restaurant. The menu at 42 euros is an excellent “deal”. A romantic vibe , and a really lovely setting.More

Very exciting pairings of unexpected tastes with seafood. If you are dining indoors you are seated not too far from the (open) kitchen, so you have a chance to see the chefs at work. The calamari came with several small orange slices that the server...recommended should be cut into small bits to accompany each bite of the calamari – an excellent recommendation – tempted to try it at home. Others in our party had the dorade and the mullet – both also good for the main dish. For the starters – there were razor clams, wonderfully seasoned, coquilles St Jacques, and sliced pork. Superb.More

I regularly eat here and am not disappointed. The swordfish was to die for. Julian and Melanie also pay special attention to wine choice. We were not disappointed. Thank you for making my husbands birthday so special!

WARNING - I know this is bad to say but I am not a big fan of fish and seafood but when in Rome! Superb restaurant, recommended by the local fishermen who were offloading their catch and I was not disappointed. Everything was fresh, service...was impeccable (as you would expect from France) and the restaurant itself was beautiful inside with large open windows looking over the balconies onto a small back road in a 'quaint' little French fishing village. Scallops and sole were my choice and they were perfectly cooked and enjoyed with a cold glass of excellent Sancerre. I would go back here without a second through and have indeed recently recommended it to friends who were in the area.More

nice place with both outside and inside tables, located in the center of the old town. Friendly but busy staff, great choice of food. Their cuisine is innovative and slightly fusion, presented in a nice esthetic manner and - what's most important - really delicious!!...Although we were eating outside, I really liked the interiors.More

There was no vegetarian food showing on the menu & as the restaurant had been recommended to us we asked one of the very friendly waiting on staff if they would do a vegetarian plate for me. She went & spoke to the chef who...produced an excellent & very imaginative plate of vegetarian food. It was so good that we went back every night during our four day stay in Gruissan. My husband also loved the meat & fish meals he had. Certainly the tastiest vegetarian meals I've eaten in France.More

Went here for New Years Eve. Had a wonderful night. Food was perfect - 7 courses all delicious. I had smoked eel in one course which I have never tried before. I'm hooked now! Lamb was perfect and desserts to die for. Wine was well...chosen. Atmosphere was lovely with friendly attentitive staff. Thank you Melanie, Julien and Nicole for a perfect evening.More

We have been visiting over the last 11 years and this time we really noticed that the main restaurant was much more " up market" - perhaps this was because it is winter and the town has not such a relaxed feel. The food was...good price - (140e for two children's menus a Christmas set menu and another starter and desert and two glasses of wine) Service was fine - just wanted to say that it really has changed dramatically from the old place and moules shop. Still good but different and set in an amazing building . ThanksMore
