Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We wandered into Sharkeys after walking up and down St Lawrence Gap drawn by its bright colors, lively music and delicious menu. We were not disappointed! Try the shrimp cocktail served two ways—boiled and coconut fried. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone good. The pina coladas were great. The servers’ friendliness made up for a somewhat slow kitchen. Only suggestion would be to not play Marley on a continuous loop!

We popped in for breakfast after reading good reviews but thought it was quite average especially for the price. We were in the bar stool area for eating which isn’t the most comfortable. We ate the English breakfast and it was ok, bacon was over cooked/crispy. When we asked for the bill the Waitress didn’t leave until we paid - don’t know if this a Barbados thing but being from the Uk we are used to being given some time to review the bill and pay, this made us feel uncomfortable.
I’m gluten intolerant and there were no GF alternatives offered.

Seven friends and I had dinner on New Year's Eve at Sharkey's in St Lawrence Gap. We were very comfortably seated on the inside of the Restaurant and the service that we were given by the very accommodating young lady hostess was outstanding. The youngest in our party were eight and thirteen years old and she answered their many questions about the menu items very graciously. The starters were filling, the meals were delicious and the entire evening was delightful. I must mention that my Shrimp were some of the best that I have ever eaten.
Full marks to the Management and Staff of Sharkey's. They can be sure of my continued patronage and recommendation to my guests.

First off the food is excellent. The problem is with the staff or at least some of them. They give the attitude at times they don’t really want to be there and can be bad mannered at times not all of them I must add. We visited three times during our three week holiday and on the last occasion we left after an hour without getting our dinner . The staff at first blamed the computer for a mix up and then the guy in charge finally said “the kitchen is a shambles” his words,at this point we left. In their favour they didn’t charge for our drink.Good food spoiled by poor service and some rude staff sadly.

We wanted to watch the St Helens rugby match and asked the manager who was happy to put it on tv for us. With the time difference to the UK it was only 4pm local and despite very few guests being after the lunchtime rush the staff were still very attentive with drinks and food. There's always guests coming and going we noted during the week and every evening it has been full to capacity.
Cannot fault the food, drink or friendly and attentive service. Absolutely perfect each time we visited regardless of whether for a quick cold drink, watch sports or dine.

Had both breakfasts and dinner here on our stay last week, great food and service. The staff are very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for us . We were usually served by Shamkie who was fantastic and knew exactly what we wanted making sure we had our favourite seat when available. Will definitely go back on our next trip as the atmosphere was worth it in itself.

First off the food is very good. We visited three times during our stay in Barbados. The first time no real problems apart from a long wait. The second time the staff gave the impression they didn’t want to be there and were not interested their manners also left much to be desired. Again the food was very good. On our last visit all was chaos we waited an age to get served then after almost one hour only one main dish arrived. We were told it was a computer error and the other main was on its way. We are still waiting! The guy in charge said “ the kitchen is a shambles” his words. At this point we left. In their favour they didn’t charge for our drink. Great food but the service and the staff have much room for improvement.

The most disappointing place we ate during our week long Barbados visit. Stopped in for lunch on a rainy day. Very limited menu, we struggled to make a decision. We felt forced to choose wings, they were fine but the fish bites were sent back. Drinks were unexceptional and service was less than average. They do breakfast, those choices looked better, they should extend those options to lunchtime.

Called in for lunch. Restaurant was quite busy so expected things could be a bit slow. They were. Waited a long time to place our drinks order and waited even longer for them to arrive. Food was also slow and the quality did not match the prices. Will not return.

Right on The Gap, friendly staff, great vibe and good music. Had an evening meal there also, chicken curry, which was good and reasonably priced.
Must mention Tabu restaurant just up the road, which is part of the same group, but I can't seem to leave a review as it has just opened. This was the best meal in 10 days in The Gap, bit more expensive, but 5/5 ask for Mikel😁

Called in for lunch. Got 2 raspberry daiquiris (happy hour a lucky coincidence). Having had coconut shrimp in another restaurant in the Gap, I can honestly say these were massive and to die for with a lovely sweetness that came from the coconut which is often lost) and the cocktail sauce was amazing. It came with rice and a small salad. The rice, although plain, was perfectly seasoned and cooked, would definitely revisit. Banana bread was also amazing (to go because 2 daiquiris filled me up on top of the food)

We had lunch the other day. The restaurant was busy but not crazy at 2:00 PM. Once seated, we must have waited 15 minutes to place an order and receive a glass of water. Our food, a burger and the curried chicken, took an hour to arrive after we ordered them. They arrived lukewarm and weren't particularly good.
Maybe Sharkey's is a good place to drink, but we will not be returning.

We came across Sharkeys after being unable to get a table at Harlequins. We spoke to an American couple who recommended it as ‘simple’. After the 9 hour flight, we were tired and ready for food so gave it a shot.
The Chicken and Bacon Roulade was absolutely fantastic, really nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Shrimp linguine was amazing too, it comes with Garlic Bread which is a bonus! Finally the coconut shrimp was amazing! Never tried anything like it!
As I said, we sort of stumbled across Sharkeys but considering it’s our first night, we’ve already confirmed we’ll be back!

We randomly stopped in here for lunch during our visit here. The service was very good but we were the only people in the place.
We ordered the spicy fish bites and it came out very quickly. They were good but nothing exciting!
We didn't order anything else as we were underwhelmed.
