Had a roast which was decent but if you go with three you get same veg as for two so very small portions. Waitresses seem to have got into running around the restaurant or rushing very obviously. We were bumped into several times and it...was totally unnecessary and very unrelaxing. Expensive average meal. Silly drama.More
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we are always looking for ways to constantly improve. We apologise for the lack of vegetables as we are well known for our large portions - we would have been more than happy to...More

Went to the Oak Barn for lunch with my daughters and two year old granddaughter. Have to say, we each had delicious meals which were beautifully presented. The waiting staff were brilliant, couldn't fault them. The chef very kindly prepared a special meal for me...as I'm currently on a restricted diet. Wonderful place!More

This was really an all round five star experience. Arrived feeling a little stressed and rushed and left feeling totally relaxed and happy! On arrival the waitress, Lucy, was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. There was no feeling of being rushed on choosing from the...menu and she gave us good tips on what to choose while we were deliberating. The main course ( we both chose the duck salad ) was generously portioned and delicious and we both thoroughly enjoyed the Sundae and creme brulee we had for deserts. We were having such a nice time that after we had eaten we decided to sit by the roaring fire in the bar and were served coffee by Hannah who also made us feel so welcome. Everything was really clean and efficient and even paying the bill to Esther on the bar was enjoyable! I really thought the service was first class and will definitely be back soon.More

A lovely spot for a Sunday roast lunch, a warm welcome from the staff and Kath was exceptional as a waitress. An attentive, genuine service from her where she a bright future in hospitality. The food was the thoughtfully presented and was delicious as was...the wine which was of high quality in every region offered. Keep doing what you’re doing, highly recommend.More

We visited on weekday lunchtime on the way back from Sheffield Park Gardens. The service was good throughout, and we were shown to our seats reasonably quickly. We were looking for a fairly light lunch and opted for the burger and chips. The chips were...good, but the burger was a bit grisly/chewy. The meal was OK but nothing special and, considering that I paid for just £11.95 for a similar cheese burger (Barley Mow, West Horsley) just a couple of weeks earlier, I thought it was expensive.More
We are pleased that the service was of high standard, and you weren’t waiting when you arrived. Our burgers are all made in house, and we normally receive glowing reviews on the quality of the burgers so this is disappointing to hear - of course,...More
We dropped in on Wednesday 8 November for afternoon tea, there do not appear to be any fisabled parking spaces , in fact there is a sign that says park close together. The waiter who cleaned our table left the cloth and cleaning fluid hanging...on the back of one of our chairs. It took ages for my husband to order tea for 2, as they could not locate a teapot! When tea etc arrived we asked for extra hot water, which arrived in a cup! (Can't make it up can you!) Had to point out the cleaning equipment left hanging off the back of s chair. The best and only good bit about our visit was the open log fire. Won't be returning in a hurry!More
We apologise for the cleaning supplies to be left on the back of the chair – this isn’t acceptable and something we are looking into to prevent happening again. We were extremely busy the lunch time you popped in, we had to nip to our...More
Made very welcome in a nice quiet space, with a lovely, helpful waitress called Lily. Delicious food (Lamb Duo) creatively presented, followed by a wonderfully creative and tasty dessert (Autumn Eton Mess), combining blackberries, figs, poached pears with cream, raspberry meringue and lemon curd. Very...enjoyable evening.More
Thank you for your review, we are pleased the service and food is up to the high standard we aim for. We hope to see you again soon!
What a shame...as the food and service by the waiting staff was lovely albeit a bit slow - everything was great until we were asked to seat our children down after they had wandered outside to the empty courtyard for some air. Straight away we...got the children to come to the table - we were then approached a second time by a very rude manager who told us to leave after one of the toddlers was crying! Clearly the manager is not a family man himself. Really appalling behaviour for such a lovely place. We won't be back. It is NOT a family friendly restaurant.More
We would like to point out the following as there is always two sides to every story… - The children were running around throughout your visit – through the restaurant, into the bar area and then into the Courtyard playing hide and seek. - The...More
14 of us had our first experience at this venue today , 3 groups of families , our table was booked at 3pm . The waitresses were friendly and attentive , it was very busy so service was a little slower than we would have...liked however all the food was lovely , towards the end of the meal we were approached by Marc the manager asking us if we could get our children to come inside who had been outside playing in the courtyard , he told us they were making dirty hand prints on the glass and being too loud outside , as you can imagine keeping 8 children occupied for nearly 3 hours was a long time , we thought by sending them outside they couldn’t come to any harm or cause any issues . We went straight out and told the children to come in , they came and sat straight down with us . Again after 10 minutes Marc was back at our table asking us to control our children as he had 5 complaints from other customers , all the children bar one 2 year old were still sat with us , so we found this a little odd . The 2 year old had tried to go back outside but an older child had gone to go and get her as we knew they weren’t allowed . Marc came back telling us again that it wasn’t good enough , we explained we had done everything he requested and that we thought the venue was child friendly and that are children hasn’t done anything wrong , with that he became even more rude so we told him we would get the bill and pay , on doing so he said good and as he walked away from Our table he said yes and go now . We couldn’t believe how he had just spoken to a group of people that had just spent £500 at his venue . He became very rude and aggressive and wanted us to leave his venue as soon as possibly . We were told to get out now , how any one can speak to a customer like this is beyond me . We always are considerate of others in a dining venue when we have our children with us and on this occasion do not feel that they did anything wrong . For 2.5 hours they were sat at the table awaiting their food with out leaving their seats . Such a shame at this was a lovely experience right up until we were treated awfully from this Marc . We won’t be returning all the time he is there .More

Me my Family and friends all went for dinner here and received appalling behaviour from the manger of the place . The first time he told us to collect our kids from outside because apparently there were putting finger prints all over the windows when...they were just playing i.t outside . We then said okay and then got all our kids in but then one of my friends baby’s started crying so the mangers came back over and talk to me with lots of attitude because I can’t control when a baby cry’s!!! My friends husband then politely asked him to not talk to his wife like that and then he told us “get out” . I think this behaviour is absolutely disgusting and it should be dealt with .More
