Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really wanted to love this restaurant, we asked for a table at the front which provided a beautiful view. The food I’m afraid was very average which didn’t reflect the prices and portion sizes. The waiting staff got our order wrong, delivering steak tartare instead...of fillet. The waitress was fairly rude & didn’t apologise. We were also informed one of the starters was unavailable after we ordered, which was annoying. We found the staff (apart from one young lady at the front of house) quite snooty & abrupt. We ordered (2 adults & 3 children) calamari, mussels, grilled fish, fillet steak & a bottle of wine. Food was definitely ok, but not great, but with a bill of 280 euros, it was the most expensive meal so far on the island, but not the best, although the view was stunning. Shame really.More

We got the restaurant recommend by a local. It was a relatively short drive from Cituadella - and the area was quite beautiful. We ordered some tapas dishes and a large fish to share. All tapas servings were really tasteful, and it was easy to...taste that they were made with quality products by good chefs. The fish was simply one of the best fish serving I’ve ever had - so tasteful and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and I have the feeling that it is only going to become more and more popular. Enjoy!More

I hope someone will post an up to date review. This used to be a truly wonderful restaurant then it all went wrong! I will return as soon as someone tells me that it has “got its act together” again. Needs a Website with Menus...too. If you go to their supposed website you get the Ses Salines Town Hall in Mallorca! Come on guys! The location is indeed possibly the finest in Menorca.More

This restaurant is overrated. The service is poor, unfriendly and snobbish. A very disappointing experience.

We went here on the back of seeing the reviews, however this must have changed hands. We arrived at 8pm and walked in to an empty restaurant where they were setting up tables and I asked if they had a table for 5, I was...asked if I had a reservation when I explained that I didn’t she didn’t respond well she said well I don’t know and walked off to speak to her colleague, when she came back she pointed to a table in the middle of the restaurant and said well you will have to have this one. We didn’t feel welcome to the point my mum asked them if we were welcome there to her colleague as she was walking past. She then explained that the premium seats were by the edge (10ft away). The menu is extremely limited and if you have children or don’t like mussels try somewhere else. We ordered starters and drinks and the white wine came up cold. The worst glass of wine on menorca! We paid for our starters and left and had a lovely meal down the road with friendly staff. Would never go back. After we left I looked back and noticed they haven’t had any reviews for over a year.More

We were staying locally and after a quick walk around Ses Salines we decided that this restaurant had the best outlook. As it was a Saturday we booked a table. When we arrived at 8pm we were shown to our table, overlooking the bay. Beautiful...views!! However we were the only ones there. We had a lovely meal with sardines then seabass. By 9pm the restaurant was full. Reasonable prices.More

Visited Ses Salinas for a late lunch Spanish style ,as we were staying about 1/2 mile from the restaurant we had dropped in for an evening drink a couple of times to watch the boats in marina. We decided to book for lunch ,on arrival...it was quite clear this was a place frequented by Spanish locals and visitors as there were a number of large family parties enjoying lunch. We had fish and octopus and it was thoroughly enjoyed , the local Rose was a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The service was friendly and attentive and we couldn’t fault it. The terrace is a lovely place to dine right on the waterfront overlooking the boats. The only downside was when we requested to book again we we informed that this was the last day of service as they were closing for the end of the season, certainly be back on our next visit to Menorca.More

Having just arrived, hungry, in Menorca, the staff of Ses Salines were very friendly and accommodating, moving tables around to seat the 8 of us. Service was quick and efficient and the food fresh and tasty.

First time we went there in 2016 it was delicious and not too pricy. We ate on the terrace with a fantastic view on the water. So we decided to go back in 2017 but what happened then we don't know. The food was long...not as good anymore. We had to wait indefinitely, the waiter was not the friendliest of all. In fact, it was the total opposite as the year before. Shame, as it is a nice restaurant with a nice view but unfortunately the food is not as good anymore. We shall give it another try in 2018 just to see. If not good again, that will be it.More

The service is wonderful here. Fantastic seafood and paella is prepared by the owner. The views are unbeatable and the whole dining experience is relaxed and of the highest standard. Highly recommended if you like fish, seafood and paella.

We had dinner at Ses Salines on a Sunday night - it is nice to find a restaurant still open at 11pm in Menorca! We ordered the octopus and prawn paella and sangria to share. It was all really well presented and the balcony area...was beautiful, however the food wasn't overwhelming to taste. I would recommend this place for a snack and drink during the day when you can see the water.More

But we were came for Sunday Lunch. It is a very large restaurant but only one corner was occupied. The menu was a bit confusing as the starters were more like tapas, apart from the gaspacho which was only a small glass. I chose the...fish croquettes which looked good and tasted OK but there were 10 on the plate and no dipping sauce. My neighbour chose anchovies which consisted of 6 salty tinned fishes and 4 large pieces of tomato bread. (14€ ?)This If the waiter had explained that the starter menu was more suitable for sharing it would have been helpful as we were all English and not used to the sharing culture. Of the main courses the steak and the tempura vegetables and prawns looked the best bet. The paella was the worst I have ever eaten. It included a small whole crab which was totally inedible, the taste was very bland and I had to ask for some lemon which is normally served automatically. The service was very poor and to cap it all the disabled toilet was locked and there was no paper or soap in the ladies toilet. This restaurant has the potential to be the most spectacular in Menorca with amazing views of the sea and sailing boats. To have so few tables occupied on. Sunday afternoon is very sad. I hope the management will take notice of this review as they have a potential goldmine. Wonderful view, excellent access and carpark. Just get the food right.More

Myself & my partner have been to Menorca 3 times, on each visit we have visited this restaurant at least 3 times each visit. Service is fantastic & the staff are very friendly. Nothing is to much trouble. We like to try the catch of...the day & have eaten things we never would usually back home. Very fresh fish. Highly recommend anyone goes here. Child friendly.More

Went there as our second resort since the restaurant we were going to was closed but it was a very good surprised. We ordered things to share because we wanted a light lunch. Anchovies with bread, prawn and veggie tempura, gazpacho and mussels. Everything was...delicious, same as dessert. We also saw around to paellas and steaks and looked really good. On top of that, the views of the port was fantastic and it was very peaceful.More
