My husband, daughter and myself were walking along the fish quay looking for somewhere to eat and stopped to read the menu for Martino's. A couple were on their way out who declared it was fantastic, the best Sunday lunch in the area! So with this recommendation we decided to give it a try. Up a rather steep set of... More

Needs updating table cloth was full of stains when we sat down, ordered potato skins which were nice enough then pizza and pasta to share however pizza was burnt. Waiter said because it had a honey glaze it's suppose to be like that, he offered to cook us the same pizza again but his previous comment about it being burnt... More

couldn't find the street entry, too many door choices. it was up a steep flight of stairs into a small room on the first floor which was crammed tightly with comfy tables and chairs, but it was CRAMPED. huge windows to see out across the street, which helped with the claustrophobia. the bargain menu for £4.95 with three courses was... Party of 6 a week before Christmas but quiet. First impressions not great and menu looked limited BUT the quality of food on offer was first class. 4 of us had fish soup which was fabulous, portions for mains (pizza pasta) were excellent and 3 had a plate of mussels each - very well received. House wine more than acceptable... More

Not clean enough, just a bit grotty and uncared for. Empty at lunchtime peak time on a Saturday despite bargain £4.95 for three courses menu - and now I know why. Decent leek and potato soup and potato skins to start, soggy, swollen, over cooked penne in a gloopy tasteless sauce for main. Supposed to be arrabiata but some tired... More

One fish platter and one seabass and prawns please. There's no fish she says. Man shouts from the kitchen... More

Staff were lovely, food ok, wouldn't say this is a family restaurant, baby daughter was screaming in a fun way, yes I did try to calm her down as she was a little excited about ice cream but she was only being a happy baby and one of the other customers told me to keep her quiet!!! Thought that was... More

We decided to visit this 1st floor Italian restaurant on North Shields quayside. Fortunately we managed to get a window table which afforded us views up and down the River Tyne. There was a good selection of dishes on the menu, we decided on Garlic Bread for my wife and I chose Potato Skins. Everything arrived quickly and we were... More

Staff, the owner I think, were absolutely great, very pleasant and extremely helpful. I will certainly visit again, when we are up there, and will recommend to friends.Thank... More
