Loads of character for a small bar on a Main Street. Seats outside or in and off season it was better inside. Limited tapas menu but what is on offer is pretty good. One small downside is no draft beer but house wine is good and reasonably priced. Loads of hams hanging from the ceiling add to the general character... More

A very Spanish, crowded bar with numerous hams hanging and a huge selection of Tapas. Authentic tapas are not a cheap way to eat but these were particularly pricey. However, the quality was excellent.. Four of us shared plates of cheese/Iberican Ham, black pudding with peppers, pork loin wrapped in bacon, sliced steak and fried small fish.

I have visited this Tapas bar before. The place has so much charm and has a fabulous atmosphere. The tapas are fantastic and other meals are great too. I would fully recommend this tapas bar to anyone who likes the real feel of Spain. It's a must to visit. Try it?

Absolutely great place. Ham, cheese and `tortilla patata` are the best I have ever tasted! Love to go there!

A little pricey for the area but great tapas. Cheeses and hams to die for. We asked different taxi drivers to recommend the best tapas, 2 out of the 3 chose el charquito.

But that is about all the good I can say. Though we made a reservation they seemed unhappy to see us, and the service was indifferent all evening. The fried fish was more bones than fish, the salad unexceptional. The cerveza was cold.

Few dishes were nice but most of the dishes weren't great and the tapas is over priced. Have had much better and fresher tapas. My boyfriend and I will not be returning

During a recent business trip to Castellón we stayed in benicássim. Task Bar Charquito came recommended by one of our colleagues who had visited many time before. Wow! What a little gem of a restaurant. It was very busy with mainly local people. The food was excellent and there was a huge varied choice to suite all tastes. The waitress... More
